Entering the Final 10 Countdown. Number 10: Bob's Burgers: “V for Valentine-detta” | yahoo201027's Top 20 Countdown of 2018

On to the Final 10 Countdown of the Top 20 for the year 2018 and man, oh man, everyone knew that this episode is gonna be on the list at some point. So I say why the heck not? Let’s add this and recap it just to spite a few certain people just as 2019 begins to roll in. Kicking off the final 10 for 2018 showcases Louise and Linda help get a heartbroken Tina have some night on the town on Valentine’s Day following her heart stomped on by Jimmy Jr. Coming in Number 10 is “V for Valentine-detta”, the Eighth Episode of the Eighth Season of Bob’s Burgers.

First episode of 2018 for the Bob’s Burgers and a Valentine’s episode to kicking things off for the year and the second half of the show’s eighth season. And man, oh man, this episode does not disappoint. Mostly coming from the main plot of the episode both Louise and Linda taking Tina, who got her heart ripped out Kanos style by Jimmy Jr after choosing another girl over her to be his Valentine, for a ride out around the town on the holiday where everything is well uh…love. But it looks like that this Valentine’s Day for the Belcher women is that hanging out with your gal pals is what Tina need to get through a massive heartbreak. Cause, fuck men, am I right?

Jillian Bell did an incredible job voicing the limo driver named Nat and let’s be real here folks, who here thinks that Nat’s an incredible character and should deserve to make a comeback? Cause I said in the review back in January, I thought at first that Nat would fall in line of being another one of the characters to only be there for only one episode and never to make a return. Well, times past since the episode aired and Bouchard answered out calls!

She’s coming back for a future episode. She’s making a comeback! We’re getting more of some Nat goodness. Oh wow, talk about an early Christmas gift from both Bouchard and the Animation Gods. A sacrifice will now be made. But yeah, Nat in this episode, pretty much ended up being the fan favorite when driving the Belcher women around the town to help Tina getting through the slump of being heartbroken and of course, getting back at Jimmy Jr for choosing another girl over her to be his Valentine once the holiday arrive. Whether it’s having some fun on the park’s fountain, that may or may not be  Friends reference since I’ve never watched the show, sue me, or carrying a stink bomb with her for Tina to ruin Jimmy Jr’s date, let’s not lie to ourselves, Nat’s a pretty cool character and I’m for one is glad that she is coming back and I hope get to see more of her in action. Maybe taking on the development department for a future episode.

Bell’s not the only one who also provide the show to kick off the year with a massive bang. Minty Lewis of Regular Show fame also played a role in the episode as the girl who recently got her braces off thus Jimmy Jr come crashing in like Jaws crashing towards the boat on the ocean waters in Becky Krespe. And like Nat in the review, was hoping for Becky to make a comeback as well because I could see a potential friendship between both her and Tina, mostly because the two got their hearts stomped by Jimmy Jr being a massive fuckboy. Now look, Tina/Jimmy Jr shippers probably bashed Becky for getting in their way like with the Starco shippers on Star vs The Forces of Evil with Jackie being in the way from Star and Marco having an what looked like an endgame relationship. Like Jackie, guys, Becky didn’t do anything wrong. She’s not in the way of Jimmy Jr being with Tina. I mean yeah, what Jimmy Jr was majorly the most fucked up way possible on the one day a year where you don’t want to get your heartbroken, and I don’t know what’s more fucked up when it comes to a breakup, Jimmy Jr breaking up with Becky mid-date to get back to Tina, who he broke her heart over not being his valentine or Courtney faking her death when Gene broke up with her on her birthday? I-I think the second one’s pretty much worse. Like what the fuck?!

Becky didn’t anything wrong. And Tina knows that because once she arrives near her table, just as she was about to drop the stink bomb, looking at Becky at the table, and it looks like she was about to wave the white flag and let Becky have a go since she looked so happy and…she can’t ruin that. Like thinking of herself, “I-I can’t do it. I can’t freaking do it. I can’t ruin their date. I mean, yeah, Jimmy Jr pretty much broke my heart the day before Valentine’s but…Becky, it looks like she’s currently having the night of her life and I can’t ruin that. I got to now step aside and let them eat cake.” And Becky accepts that coming from Tina following both her and Jimmy Jr spotting her nearby after tripping a few plates down. And that would’ve finally have Tina accept defeat and that there’s no way in hell that she’s gonna get Jimmy Jr and find some other fish in the sea or in Tina’s case, a horse in the open wild, and that if Becky’s happy, then she’s happy. And then there’s Jimmy Jr doing the unthinkable.

Yeah, first he broke Tina’s heart by picking Becky to be his valentine over her and now in mid-date, on Valentine’s Day, breaks Becky’s heart and decided to be with Tina instead. Like…what the fuck are doing you goddamn bum?! You can’t fucking do that?! That breakup now made Becky heartbroken and on the verge of tears and Tina and later Linda, Louise, and Nat not letting that slide and thus, dropping the stink bomb in front of him and of course, Tina, getting Becky out of here with her and the girls from not being affected by the stink bomb that Nat dropped. And yeah, the writers, aka the Molyneux sisters, pretty much made Jimmy Jr into a fuckboy. And god, what a massive turd he is following breaking two girls’ hearts before and during Valentine’s Day. And I get it, he’s 13. He’s new to the scene when it comes to the romance department. Yeah, so does Gene and he’s 11. And Louise and she’s 9. What Jimmy Jr did was inexcusable. What he did is wrong at so many levels. You could say that recent kiss back in “UFO No You Didn’t” took them that fucking long since “Bob Actually” with the sky kiss and of course, a refresher for the Tina/Jimmy Jr shippers following this episode, but I’m not gonna let this one slide over. What he did was wrong. And I can’t, just can’t, let him go have a pass after this episode. And with the redemption episode now about to come in our way come around 2019, don’t know when, better follow me on Twitter, Tumblr, and/or Instagram for that when the day comes like what Bouchard said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, but like I said in my “UFO No You Didn’t” review, one fuck in that upcoming episode is where I will never forgive Jimmy Jr. Never, ever.

Oh yeah, and we had a thing called the subplot with Gene and Bob having some quality father/son bonding trapezing…only to get stuck midair due to fear and holding up the line and I like how the employees of the trapeze decided to bring out the big guns and using the “P” word to get Bob and Gene ready to let go, payment. And so it did. So I guess you could say that the subplot was enjoyable. Good be in exact. And like in some reviews during the comeback, not a sarcastic manner. So there’s that. And I for one, enjoy the plots we have with Gene and Bob hanging out and have some father/son quality time. Oh yeah, and speaking of Entertainment Weekly, looks like we’re getting another one of those episodes in the future, probably later in the season. I feel like 2019 for the Bob’s Burgers fandom is gonna be the calm before the huge shitstorm known as 2020 when the movie comes out. So uh…buckle up kids, it’s gonna be a long and bumpy ride.

So the reason why this episode kicked off the Final Ten list of the Top 20 Countdown is mostly because, like Steven Universe with both “Lars of the Stars” and “Jungle Moon”, this one did not disappoint. And of course, being a Valentine’s episode no less to kick off 2018 for the Bob’s Burgers fandom.

And having both Nat and Becky around in the episode pretty much seals the deal along with the Belcher women having a night around the town while helping getting Tina off of a slump following her getting heartbroken by Jimmy Jr. You could say that Nat’s the MVP in this for mostly on what she do whether it’s driving the girls around or helping Tina trying to get revenge on Jimmy Jr for breaking her heart, but you might say Tina pretty much somewhat stole the title with her what was supposed to just let it be and have Becky be happy in her life and be with Jimmy Jr, to the end of the episode with brining in Becky to the limo and enjoy the rest of the night out as of course, you know the saying, the night is still young.

And the subplot was not all bad as well. We all yearning for a Gene and Bob plot, whether it’s main or sub, we all love a story of them bonding where this time around, it’s them trapezing when Gene takes Linda’s spot in Bob’s gift and like I said, the subplot does not disappoint and there were a chuckle or two mostly when it comes to both Bob and Gene having trouble letting go of each other and them using the big guns and using payment as the ultimate arsenal, that was something alright. But at the end of the day, despite being trapped in midair holding on to each other, it looks like they had fun, despite that they almost shit themselves, they had fun and I hope we can see more of these two having some bonding experience in the distant future.

We’re done with Number 10. Now leaving to the double digits and about to enter the single digits and stay tuned for Number Nine in the Top 20 Countdown as we are about to have ourselves a wedding of a lifetime…that ended up getting crashed by an incoming diamond invasion and no, we’re not talking jewelry.
