Bob's Burgers Season 10, Episode 4 Review - Pig-ception and Bob and the Giant Earwax | yahoo201027's Bob's Burgers Reviews

Well it’s Halloween time once again boys and girls and nothing said celebrating the holiday like a good ol’ Halloween episode of Bob’s Burgers and...man, the writers aren’t holding anything back with this one with Tina and the pig haunting her dreams following the dissection. That’s that you don’t see everyday when it comes to watching an episode of Bob’s Burgers and we got that in this week’s episode. Wow, what a ride it is.

In this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers, Tina gets haunted by a fetal pig following a dissection process all the way to Halloween Night as Linda tries to get a giant piece of earwax out of Bob when it’s blocking his hearing in my spoilerific review of the fourth episode of Season 10, the eighth Halloween episode of the series, titled “Pig Trouble in Little Tina”.

And holy fuck, this episode just went off the rails when it comes to the writing and execution from that and the art and animation...there is so much to talk about when it comes to this year’s Halloween episode and Bob’s Burgers did not disappoint when it comes to the Halloween episodes...with the exception of “Tina and the Real Ghost” because fuck you, that episode was nothing more than a waste of time. The writers didn’t take things easy with the main plot with Tina dealing with the fetal pig haunting her following the dissection and my god, that and the art and animation from beginning to end...keeping it a 100 people, Bob’s Burgers GREATNESS. Of course, there have to be some problems so gotta go dive into it.

And it looks like the subplot is not either a disappointment that went nowhere or being a time waster. Despite that the subplot seems like it went by fast to pave way for the juiciness known as the main plot, I enjoyed it. I really, really enjoyed it with Linda trying to get the earwax out of Bob, especially with the end with Linda setting the mood as a trap to get Bob to lose his guard. Could this be the best episode of the season so far? If not, for the whole Halloween episodes and making it to number one on the list? Well let’s find out about this bitch and dive in to see if it lived up to the...well I don’t want to call it “hype” but...eh.

Tina is all out optimistic when it comes to the fact that she might be getting an invitation to the hayride on Halloween night even though the episode began with the subplot with Bob having trouble hearing and has something to do with his ear, and we’ll get to that in the subplot section later in the episode. Oh yeah, let’s not to mention that we have no intro for this episode, so uh...whenever there’s an episode that got no intro, we’re in for a good episode. The Season 4 finale, no intro. “Work Hard of Die Trying Girl”, no intro. “Dawn of the Peck”, no intro. “The Oeder Games”, “Glued, Where’s My Bob”, “Last Gingerbread House on the Left”, “The Bleakening”, no intros. And those were interesting episodes. “Tina and the Real Ghost” have no intro but...yeah, don’t even have a right to so unless they only done it by mistake or have to save room.

So Tina want to go for the hayride and hoping for an invitation from Tammy to tag along with her peers but Tammy just walked away and kept it quiet like she doesn’t want Tina to tag along for no ever reason. Well other than the friction between the two since their first meeting. Almost like with “Mazel Tina” when Tina was hoping for an invitation from Tammy to attend her bat mitzvah but didn’t and would get a free pass by having the family to cater the event...minus the last one with her hoping to get her ticket to the hayride. And of course, you already know the reason why she want to get into the hayride. She mentions that kissing will be involved and since Jimmy Jr is most likely heading over there in the said hayride, she wants that Halloween kiss and she’s not going to stop until she get the invitation and get that lip action. And that’s something that the Tina/JJ shippers want for a while now, a kiss between these two in a holiday episode. Sure, the last time was being “UFO No You Didn’t” but that was all Tina thinking that aliens are about to come down and kill us all due to her and Susmita playing with fire even though that was all Henry, but the last time y’all have that within a holiday episode was all the way back in the year of 2017 with “Bob Actually” with the sky kiss. And don’t say that y’all got robbed last year with “V for Valentine-detta” and thinking about sending potential death threats. Can we please not do that for the love of god?!

Oh yeah, and it’s also dissection day in Tina’s science class with Ms. Jacobson ready to hand out the fetal pig for the process and some fans during the episode when live tweeting the whole thing thought that if she whether of not she got a voice change because she sounded a bit higher than usual. Don’t know if there was a cast change or that the voice actress who voices her can’t make due to reasons and have an understudy on standby? Who knows? Tammy, Jocelyn, Jimmy Jr, and Zeke poke fun in what could be an uncomfortable process for everyone and of course, Tina got the nasty end of the aisle with her having the dirtiest pig of it all and ends up getting the short end of the stick from her peers and Tina tried to tell them that even though the pig is dead doesn’t mean that they should have a right to mock it. You know, sympathy. But of course, they don’t buy it. Continue to mock and of course, once Tammy whisper to Jocelyn that with her energy, her chances of getting into the hayride is about to as low as my chances of getting a win in my fantasy...yeah. Tina succumbs to peer pressure and begins to dissect the fetal pig and once she begins to do that...

I mean...yeah. Tina noticed an eye opened up from the pig in front of her and despite that it was all her imagination, this pretty much signals the ride that we’re about to enter as Tina begins to take her knife and cut the pig open. Don’t worry, we didn’t see the thing in action, thank god. Though I would feel sorry for the squeamish or anyone who was eating during the episode, and although the whole dissection scene wasn’t shown, get ready for what’s to come later on in the review.

But all and all, Tina did the deed and finally dissected the pig and all it took to do all that, is of course, peer pressure coming from Tammy, Jocelyn, Zeke, and Jimmy Jr. But that of course, landed Tina to fill in the spot for the hayride come Halloween night, so it looks like the day is not a total loss for her. She finally got her wish in being in the hayride, meaning that it’s a one way ticket Smooch Town with Jimmy Jr and...

Tina’s imagination folks. Tina’s imagination in thinking up Jimmy Jr in overalls and being shirtless with one hook off and reveal a nipple. I don’t know where we’re going with this even though this is Tina we’re talking about so let’s just head on down to the Belcher household at night because it looks like this roller coaster is about to launch from it’s port or whatever.

Onto Tina’s room where she seems to asleep, more in the line of having trouble sleeping, as she begins to move around the bed and you have to give the animators some mad props when it comes to this scene and more to come later on in the review for this episode. Beginning with the pig just popping out like it’s coming out from the wall or something. This is really going to be a long and yet interesting main plot for me to review. Tina wakes up from that and check around to see if anything sinister is going on around the area and this would’ve been the part where she goes back to sleep and just walk it out till morning but then she noticed something under her blanket by the end of the bed and once she pulled it up from her bed and ends up revealing to be...

The pig that she dissected earlier in the day. Crawling up to her as Tina screams and ended up fallen off from her bed, thus attracting Linda to see what’s going on. Of course, like with little kids being afraid, thinking that the boogeyman is out to get them, Tina tells Linda about the pig being there and then just disappeared, only to be told by Linda to head back to sleep. So uh...proper parenting when it comes to dealing with your nightmares there, Linda. Nailed it!

Tina tried to but has to wash her face off and tries to think to herself that what happened earlier in the night with the pig popping out from her covers was nothing more than just her imagination and hoping for that to go away and sealed away for as long as she lives. But once she gets away from the sink, putting on her glasses, taking off her pants, and about to pee before heading back, and just about to do all that...

The pig returns and in the toilet seat. Like literally, in the toilet seat. That feels like all levels of wrong here, mostly one being I think the pig got a front row view...and also to the fact I think there’s some bathrooms in some countries, mostly in the Eastern Hemisphere, where they use pigs to eat the waste. One, no offense. Two, disgusting. Three, Tina girl...you’re not the first one who saw a pig in the toilet. Tell that to Jean Pierre Polnareff in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders when he endured it when using the bathroom while in India. You two might as well get a room and talk about that.

Tina screams once again from toilet pig and runs away from the bathroom, with her pants down to her ankles, and ending up tripping down to the floor and thus, waking her up for reals, meaning that what we saw is nothing more than a dream once again. Thus of course, rather than staying in her room and go back to sleep, hoping to not go through a three-peat when it comes to her nightmares with the pig...

She ended up in Louise’s room and next to her and thus, waking Louise up from her slumber and asks Tina to go back to her room but doesn’t want to because of the nightmares that she’s currently having, and of course, Gene comes in with a platter in his hand...I think the MVP curse is now in full effect for the Gene Bean. Better get a ritual started to give him an episode. Anyway, Louise came up with an idea for what caused these nightmares that Tina is currently having and it appears to be nothing more than she’s being haunted by the pig that she cut up during the dissection. And Louise decided to pull off some information from a book called one of the volumes from Louise’s manga, Aku No Kuriketto, which I think that the Anime is doing better. Animation seems iffy but writing have to get through that and you’ll do fine. Louise checked out volume ten of the manga and checked on one of the panels from one of the chapters and reveal a Seishin Dobutsu, or a dream demon, that possesses dead animals and attack people who done any wrong doings and Tina think that it could tie it to the pig before the dissection began, thinking that her making fun of the pig is what lead to her being haunted by the pig. Even though that was only the appetizer, now you have to find the main course of the problem only for Linda to come in and ask everyone to go back to sleep and so they did except for Tina, who ended up not going to asleep and instead staying awake throughout the night and into the morning hours, looking dead in the eyes. Like a college student after going through the overnight hours studying for an important exam enough to drain the life out of you. Speaking of exams...

We have Tina taking hers but all tuckered out following staying up all night due to the nightmares that she’s having following the dissection of the pig and tries to do two things, to keep staying awake and stay focus, that’s three things, and to think of something else to make that encounter nothing more than just a memory. Thus when Jimmy Jr drops his pencil, Tina sees him trying to retrieve it back and of course, seeing his butt, clads, from his backside and that would help Tina out trying to get the image of the pig of her system...until she imagine Jimmy Jr, rather than picking up the pencil, he picked up a tail that belong to a pig. Meaning that she fell asleep and onto Round 3 we go with Tina going into Nightmare-ville with her being alone in the classroom and the pig coming out of nowhere and by the door and calling her out with the hole that was created by Tina starting dropping bits of his organs to the floor, not noticing that her asleep and enduring in the nightmare is starting to cause a scene during the exams, and...

Guts and guts coming enough, thus having it’s intestines and other things coming out of him and flood the whole room with Tina caught in the flood full of guts and stuff enough for Tina to wake up once again, this time with everyone in the classroom. Jeez that was disturbing but at the same time...glad that the writers have gotten the chains off of them and go all out. I mean, yeah, it’s Tina’s nightmare and of course, guts coming out from the pig and flood the flood with Tina being caught in the crossfire but damn. Did not expect this coming out from something like Bob’s Burgers to pull something out of their asses. I know that this episode is a full on reference to Nightmare on Elm Street with Freddy Kruger invading everyone’s dreams and cause even more problems. Though I’m surprised that pig didn’t go with that and say “bitch” like what he said, or was it Rick and Morty with the character Scary Terry? That or have a little girl in a dress playing jump rope and sing that one, two song in a demonic way but replace Freddy with piggy to really rattle Tina’s boat and sing 1, 2...Piggy’s coming for you 3, 4...better check your covers. 5, 6...don’t check the toilet 7, 8...can you stay awake? 9, 10...never sleep again. Yeah...that would’ve been the icing of the cake. But this one took it. Would say disturbing but there’s one scene from a series in my list that kind of took the cake back in 2015...

Don’t know why I brought it up but...yeah. I know that the series is already over with since 2016 but...Mayuri is really messed up in the head. My god. So following that little scene that Tina created, she acquired both Gene and Louise’s help to deal with this problem if she want to get rid of it and go back to sleep without having some problems with the pig invading her space. Thus enter Louise checking online to see because the internet is your best friend to check stuff whenever there’s a problem and Louise found out what to do when it comes to stopping the pig from even haunting Tina and it goes through a little thing call a ritual and a burial. As in what Louise describes, the animal, which is the fetal pig that Tina dissected, have to be present in attendance. Have a drop of blood into the animal as an apology letter, in which Tina has drop her blood into the pig that she dissected. Then have the pig tied up with the strongest bind she can find and bury it. Do all that and Tina’s problems with the pig can go away so that she can get some well deserved rest and just in time for her to get into that hayride and get some lip action from Jimmy Jr. But of course, to do, the three have to find the pig that Tina cut open.

Onto the dumpster they go with Tina going inside the thing in hopes to find the one that she got...through other pigs that been dissected and other trash which...if dealing with the pig haunting your dreams isn’t bad enough, trying going to the dumpster to find the bastard and end up smell like someone just fucking died or whatever scent that Oscar the Grouch have throughout 50 years of Sesame Street being on the air. But besides all that, after going through all the trash and clutter of dead pigs, Tina finally have hers and it looks like it’s time for the pig to be laid to rest.

Out deep into the forest they are with the hole already dug up with Tina putting the finishing touches on the pig as Louise takes out the push pin, lit the point end of the pin with a lighter, and was about to pin it onto Tina but the way you look at Louise, it’s like she doesn’t want to do this part of the process when pinning the pin onto the finger to release the blood. Not in the line of let’s say with Bob whenever he sees blood, mostly his own, he like straight up collapse, whereas Louise, known for someone who is known for all things death and chaos and destruction...you take up after your dad, Louise. You take up your dad. Tina ends up take the pin from Louise and do the blood drop herself and so she does but inserting the pin into her fingertip and drop some into the pig, tied it with a bind, and ready to bury it so that her problems can go away once and for all but when Tina begins to bury the pig by putting it in the ground...well...

Tina begins to hallucinate once again, think she has fallen asleep once again when putting the pig away, with the pig arguing with her on what she is doing and calling her a turd, in which Tina called him back and called him a turd as both Louise and Gene are just watching a sleepy Tina mouthing while asleep like they’re playing a weird and unusual game of charades they have ever played. I know that you can’t talk when you’re up to do all the work, but still. Tina kept on arguing with the pig as she finally put the finishing touches on the pig with his burial and thus, putting an end to the pig that been haunting Tina’s head and finally, the girl can get the sleep she can get...and also a shower because she did dive into the dumpster to get the pig. Heard showers are a great wakeup call when trying to make you stay alert or something like that. Oh yeah, and something tells me that won’t be the last time we won’t see the pig for a while. You know it because you already saw the episode like I did because dream demons don’t like disappear like a rash after putting on ointment or bugs after putting on spray. They’re gonna come back and come back hard.

Of course it ain’t Halloween over at the Bob’s Burgers verse without of course, the costumes because everyone love those. Of course if you read my review of “Nightmare on Ocean Avenue Street”, I stated the types of costumes that each of the Belcher kids would dress up as. Last year, it was Louise dressing up as the dragon with a girl tattoo, this year, she dresses up as the Bjorn Identity. Taking a jab at the franchise film, The Bourne Identity.

Gene last year dresses up as cross between Andre 3000, the singer, and Andre the Giant, a former professional wrestler, in Andre 3000 the Giant. This year, he goes as Fiona Applesauce, which is a cross between the singer Fiona Apple and a jar of applesauce attached. Funny because unless you didn’t even noticed that who’s the singer at the credits for this episode, that was Fiona Apple herself who lend her voice to the credit gag. Just putting it out there if you already forgot. And for Tina, she’s taking a hard pass on trick or treating this time since of course, she’s going to the hayride and hoping to get some lip action with Jimmy Jr but Linda and Bob both ask her to stay home and get some rest due to her not getting some sleep in the past days following the dissection, but of course, Tina won’t let that happen and head out anyway.

Speaking of the hayride, here we are on the night of Halloween with every eighth grader in the hayride with their dates or whoever they bring and of course, poke fun at the attractions whenever the driver of the ride stops and thinking that it would scare the kids but didn’t. The hayride seems like something made for either for little kids or someone who happened to be scared enough to send you to a hospital for shock, put into complete hypnosis to not trigger trauma, and next thing you know, you end up gaining Autonomous Ultra Instinct and only used like one, maybe two percent of it’s power. And no, I’m quoting the whole Shaggy meme earlier this year. Maybe. It has to someone who to be the scared character who pretty much on his own and not taken lightly from the fanbase...

Calling it! Darryl will be the new Shaggy. I don’t care coming from the haters, he will rival the likes of Goku and Shaggy and Jesus and Superman. Calling it right now. Yeah, I don’t know what the writers worked for the Phantosaur movie for Scooby Doo smoked or drank when coming with that idea of either the monster or Shaggy going badass. Tammy and Jocelyn made out with their dates and for Tina and Jimmy Jr, despite that Tina is like seconds away from falling asleep, it’s about to be a dream come true, both to her and the Tina/JJ shippers in the fanbase (that may or may not hijacked the fandom, your words, not mine), with Tina mouthing and Jimmy Jr questioning her what she said and to shut him up...

And here it is, kiss number nine. Number nine. Cue Revolution No. 9 by The Beatles to commemorate the special occasion. First time that we have a kiss between the two in a holiday episode since 2017 with “Bob Actually”, first time this season, and first time of the year since December of 2018 with “UFO No You Didn’t”. So that’s number nine for the number of kisses that the two share and if you think that it’s a special moment for some fans of the series, it looks like it was short lived because guess who decided to come back from the ground to haunt Tina once again?

The pig has come back from the ground and haunt Tina once again, even after putting the animal in his proper burial place. She thought it was going away after putting the pig in his place...nope, back to square one Tina goes as it looks like she fell asleep while kissing Jimmy Jr and don’t expect a Snow White moment from that, aight. So that causes everyone in the hayride to go into panic mode and escape from it...despite that it was all a dream and it’s only Tina who only caught up inside the damn thing while everyone just watched her sleep. Also don’t do anything stupid to Tina while sleeping like drawing on her face or putting her hand in water or shaving cream on her palm and waking her up with a feather. It’s 2019, almost 2020, fake emergency alerts would’ve been the way to go. Gotta live in the times. Tina, in dream world, hid behind the tree and it looks like she may not be alone when it comes to tackling the issue known as the pig that been haunting her.

Cue Louise and Gene coming into the picture and no, it’s not actually them. They’re too busy trick or treating for doing that despite that not knowing that the whole thing is not over with, so we have Dream!Louise and Dream!Gene inside Tina’s dream with Tina telling the two that they are in a dream world, so that when it comes to a dream, they can come up with anything they want, thus cueing Louise with additional arms on her body and Gene to fully transform his skin into applesauce due to his craving for the thing...in which when seeing him in full on applesauce, almost like if someone decided to dress up as Spongebob for Halloween and ended up paint the whole body from head to toe. No disrespect but still.

The three Belcher kids are in a dire need of a plan if they want to take the pig out of Tina’s system once and for all and need to find some sort of diversion to trap the pig. Would say that since this is a dream, then why didn’t Tina like imagine the pig away or in this case, dream up the infinity gauntlet and snap it away, but that would be consider a deus ex machina and no one wants that in their conscious. I mean, Tina would do it. Tina would imagine the pig to disappear but plot purposes but also would put Tina back to square one. So that leaves creating a diversion and noticing the skeleton with the banjo popping out from it’s coffin and with imaging Tina’s clothes from her shirt to her glasses and her hair, and Kangal courtesy of Gene, it looks like the plan is now ready to come into play to trap the pig like a mouse going after a piece of cheese.

The Belcher kids hid behind the tree after setting up the skeleton inside the coffin with Tina’s apparel with the pig floating across the area when noticing the skeleton popping out, noticing that it’s Tina and not the skeleton in the coffin, and went inside, only for the kids to come and trap the pig with all three sitting over the coffin to trap the pig. Only for Tina to stand up from the coffin, only to end up getting taken in by the said pig inside the damn thing. You think that once you have the pig inside the damn coffin, you would’ve like imagine chains and a lock to wrap it around and lock the motherfucker in his place. But of course, didn’t and now Tina ended up being trapped inside the coffin with the pig inside.

Inside the coffin we go with Tina with no way out from the coffin with the pig now with her, screaming. Hoping for Louise and Gene to open the coffin to let her out but unable to hear her. Trying to tell the pig to go away and leave her be, thinking that the whole thing would’ve been over with but didn’t and thus ending where we are at. But the pig comes in with the defense, saying that he has nothing to do with what’s been going with Tina following the dissection and that all of this, all that been going on with the duration of the episode, was all her. She fell into peer pressure. She made fun of his dead body because of that peer pressure and felt really guilty over it but never felt sorry for it and instead, just let it fly by and thus, putting Tina in the mess that she made. Of course, everything points back towards peer pressure because she got the short end of the stick with Tina getting that pig and ends up getting pressured by Tammy, Jocelyn, Zeke, and Jimmy Jr in hopes to get her ticket punched for the hayride. And thus, she let that happened and got her way to come over but in the result of her being haunted by the pig that she dissected. So she decided to set things aside, by that, meaning both Tina and the pig settle their differences and thus, the whole thing with the pig haunting Tina comes to an end and Tina finally getting rad of the bags from her eyes.

And at the same time the hayride come to an end and Tina calling people out on what is consider cool and uncool from what the driver of the said hayride is doing to her fetal pig that she made fun of, hoping that she doesn’t want to go for another round of what she just endured throughout the past days. Oh and it looks like the Tina/JJ shippers got another kiss in this week’s episode and thus making it number ten. Entering double digits for these two getting lip action, so consider this an early Christmas gift from the staff of the show as we now end the main plot of the episode, well before diverging to the subplot in which we’ll get to that right about now.

Going back to the beginning of the episode with Tina wanting to get an invitation to the hayride and of course, getting ready for dissection day, we have Bob beginning to having trouble when it comes to the hearing department when unable to hear the kids’ story and that pretty much bothers Linda, which Louise thinks that Bob’s getting old and could be losing his hearing come old age. Okay, I don’t think Bob would go to that when he ends up growing gray hair on his head like with Linda’s dad Al, who is old and have a hearing aid on him. Don’t think that Bob would go to that very route.

Switching over to the restaurant and Bob is still having issues with his hearing when Teddy tells one of his stories to him while flipping burgers and that of course, only a few minutes into the episode, in the subplot, and Linda is already say enough and enough and whatever is causing Bob to not hear good has to come out by doing a technique courtesy of Linda’s uncle, who he got it from prison of all places...really don’t want to know what’s going on with Linda’s side of the family, of holding your noise, swallow, and gargle with your head up, don’t try this at home kids, as a source...even though this almost feels like something you would do to get rid of unwanted mucus and not something to get something out from your ear. But of course, the technique worked and something did popped out of Bob’s ear, hitting Linda’s face, and landed on the floor and revealed to be...

Squint if you can see it? Did you see it? It’s a piece of a giant earwax that been growing in Bob’s ear. Yep, that’s disgusting to watch. Actually no, the whole scene with the pig spilling out his guts in Tina’s nightmare in the classroom, that was a whole another level. Well next to Linda wanting to keep it as a memento and put it into jar for no whatever reason. You think that throwing it away would’ve been a good idea, but nope, put it in a jar to remember the moment, October 2019, as the moment where parts of Bob’s earwax came out from his ear.

And Linda showed it to Tina, Gene, and Louise after school as well as pictures she took from her phone. Next to a quarter, next to a tomato, and with Teddy getting a laugh, nothing said having fun with the wax like taking wacky phots before getting things seriously when finding out that was only a piece. There’s still a huge piece still holding on inside Bob’s ear and that’s where Linda pull out the ear syringe, something that new moms would use when cleaning ears from babies, and that would’ve been easy for Linda to take the thing out and just call it a day. But Bob when it comes to the syringe to take the earwax out, he’s sensitive. He’s really, really sensitive when it comes to the whole syringe thing and would rather follow through that technique again but Linda would rather go to using the ear syringe and use it on Bob rather he likes it or not because that mofo known as the earwax has got to go. Would say like knock him out and take the thing out but I don’t think that would help out with the situation, so we’ll save that as the last option to take the thing out of his ear.

Head on to later in the day with Teddy and Linda dealing with the whole issue with Bob’s ear and here enter Mort and finally gotten a speaking role that doesn’t last a few seconds. And with that, looks that’s your Mort talk time for the season. Onto Season 11 where we have more because it looks like we may end up getting one per season. Really want to know what the hell is going on over at the casting department concerning Andy Kindler.

Anyway, Mort comes in as support for Linda to take the earwax out by bringing in otoscope, which is what doctors use during your checkup to see if your ears are clean and not full of earwax to see if you don’t want to be falsely accuse of being sick or something like that, anyway, Linda gets the otoscope from Mort and decided to use it on Bob and lo and behold, despite Bob’s constant sensitivity, there’s more earwax inside of him and I think that wax of ear might be the motherload and Linda wants take a photo of it. Jesus Linda, the last thing anyone want when it comes to taking out the giant earwax is taking a goddamn photo. That’s like if you saw some creepy and crawly like a 15-foot python that magically crawl through the outside of your home and rather than like go and get help, it’s take a photo of it. At least you didn’t put it on social media...I mean, that’s a plus I think. But of course, to take it out from Bob’s ear canal, she has to deal with it in the apartment later in the day, as in once the kids go out, with Gene and Louise trick or treating and Tina out to the hayride, it’s Linda who will have to go and take the earwax out of his head.

So once the kids are out of the house on Halloween night, we have Bob entering the room and noticing some candles on the bed and on the desk, setting the mood for one long and sensual night for the two, not noticing that this was all a ploy for Linda to get Bob to lose his guard for her to go for the strike and get the earwax out of his ear. Bob lies down on the bed with Linda ready to take action by patting his head and it looks like things are about to...well, you already know where this is going with the way Linda is talked when it comes to Bob and ready to take the sucker out and wouldn’t you know it, Linda pulling out the otoscope from out of the blue and checks on Bob’s ear. Putting some drops in the ear, wait for 15 minutes for the drops to do the work, and once the 15 minutes is up, it’s syringe time for Bob to get the giant piece out of him. And well...once all those things are done with...

Transitioning in between Tina’s scream in her dreams to Bob’s scream in real life with Bob screaming for his life as Linda pins him down and put the syringe into his ear to get the earwax out. You think that it’s Halloween night, where you have people out and about with kids trick or treating in the streets. And they end up hearing Bob’s screaming as he were to be injected by the ear syringe by Linda. You think that this would like cause like a concern for everyone when noticing what’s going on inside the Belchers’ apartment and cause the kids to scream, thinking that there’s a murder going on even though it was Linda getting the earwax out of Bob and even with that, may end up cause a concern for the kids outside. Well good luck sleeping tonight kids, y’all and Tina may have something to talk about come therapy.

And then to the end of the episode with both Louise and Gene eating their Halloween candy with Bob and Linda in the couch with Tina, after finally getting her nightmares with the pig now out of the way, Tina can finally get some sleep that she deserves, so at least she got a ending but for Bob and Linda, they were unable to get the earwax out of Bob, and that was after the whole thing with Linda pinning him down and putting the syringe inside of him. But it looks like it’s not going to be a total loss or an overall loss for the two because surprise, surprise, the earwax finally come out of Bob and landed onto Gene’s pile. So hey, Bob finally got the earwax out of his system, at least there’s some sort of silver lining when it comes to the extraction. Well before Gene attempts to eat it and thinks that it’s a piece of candy, in which Linda and Bob tried to stop him to close out the episode. And gotta say, the subplot did not disappoint, sure it may feels like you all heard this song and dance before but actually, I quite enjoyed it and I’ll get more of that in the reaction/thoughts section in about...now.

Reaction/Thoughts:

So all and all, what do I think about this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers? Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed this episode. Again, no bullshitting here, this is a very good episode and I feel like this is one of those episodes where the writers have been let loose and not holding any punches and this episode in time for Halloween takes the cake. From the writing to the execution and the direction, the staff of the show aren’t holding anything back with this week’s episode.

Especially coming from the main plot of the episode with Tina being haunted by the fetal pig, this is where the chains have come off from the writers and the animators when it comes to the scenes with Tina being haunted by the pig whether if it’s in the middle of the night, the argument during the burial, or being haunted one last time during the hayride, the animators took their time and make it a very good episode to enjoy with the writing not doing the same bullshit coming from “Tina and the Real Ghost” where that episode was nothing more than a complicated mess and a massive time waster that should’ve never exist at all.

This episode was glorious and at Halloween no less, so when watching this episode once the nightmare begins during the night with Tina with the pig popping up over her head, you know that we’re due for a very good episode. And the whole guts spilling out from the classroom in Tina’s second, or third nightmare, pretty much tells the viewers that we have a good episode. Not just good, but great. Amazing. Disturbing, but it was amazing to watch despite that the whole episode is pretty much one full reference to the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. And it was wonderful. And with that, the animation department has pretty much wasted all of their money when it comes to this week’s episode.

Of course, this episode was pretty much tailored made for the Tina/JJ shippers and you already know that yeah, this was pretty much tailored made for these two to have a moment from Tina imagining Jimmy Jr with overalls without a shirt on, typical Tina logic, to not one, but TWO moments in this episode, thus bouncing the number of kisses from these two at double digits, don’t want to say an apology letter for what happened back in January of 2018. But to them, it happened. Two for one. Them kissing for the Tina/JJ shippers is like let’s say Boston winning championship from baseball to football to either basketball or hockey and showing off their championship parades. So double digits, two times in one episode, that never happened before. Would want to remember the last time we have that between these two but actually, it was the first time that ever happened so that’s something to see from the series.

The subplot did not disappoint and that is surprising because if you look at the subplot for the past three episodes, it was either a waste of time or just straight out flat but this episode pretty much fixed all of that. And although that this subplot would follow the same formula, like the subplot in last year’s Halloween episode, it was something. Especially coming from the end with Linda trying to get the giant earwax out of Bob and at least she tried to get it out of Bob’s system and of course, failed until Bob finally got it out of his system but ended up landed in Gene’s candy stash, so...hey, at least we got a subplot that surprisingly did not disappoint and I kind of liked it.

So all and all to wrap things up, I think this episode was a really good one, already four episodes in and I think we found an episode where it took the top spot from the season premiere and the writing and animation is what made it a good episode to watch and again, feels like the writers and the animators, the staff as a whole, have their chains off and go all out and this is pretty much sums this week’s episode and I love it, no bullshitting here, I really, really love it. So I’ll give “Pig Trouble in Little Tina”...

...9.5 out of 10. And where it rank when it comes to the Halloween episodes of the series, this would be at top three, possibly putting it at number two. Possibly number one on the list, knocking “Full Bars” down and look at that, a shakeup. That’s something. Tell me what you think about this week’s Halloween episode of Bob’s Burgers. Do you like it? Do you hate it? Do you think this is the best Halloween episode of the series? Is the subplot of the episode the good one so far this season? All that and your mini review in the comments down below. And of course, no new episode next weekend due to the World Series between Washington and Houston, at the time of this posting, Washington lead the series at 1-0. But November 3, we’re going to the mall and of course, your usual hijinks ensues for the Belcher family in the fifth episode of Season 10, “Legends of the Mall”.

Follow me on Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram for all things fandom posts, of course, I may be thinking about working on the Facebook page since that page is pretty much dead there, so gotta somewhat revive it during the break. And if you want to help me out when it comes to financial stuff...

Do that today over at the PayPal, Patreon, or Ko-fi pages to do all that to keep this boat afloat during the two week break and until then, I’ll see y’all later and have a spooky Halloween.
