Fandom Update: Bob's Burgers Movie WonderCon Panel News and Minor Speculations | yahoo201027's Bob's Burgers Discussions

No new episode this week, meaning no review until April 10 but we did get some tidbits for the upcoming Bob’s Burgers Movie from WonderCon. Of course, we’re back to in-person conventions. Means that getting some info from in-person conventions...when being stuck at home because of no money to afford travel. Welcome back to the pre-pandemic days, boys. It’s gonna be a doozy once again. So might as well do some thoughts about what we got from the panel. So let’s get this out of the way.

Might as well get this out of the way since this is pretty much going to, if not, already overshadow things. Attack on Titan, the anime, looks like it’s not hanging up its coat just yet because following the release of the latest episode, Episode 87, people thought that this would be the end of the anime and would transition into going into movie form because of the fact that they only nine chapters left from the manga to cover. But it looks like we’re doing this and it will be televised. 2023 is when the final, final, final part of the season will take place. Don’t know which season is going to fall on, but Season 4 Part 3, the ride isn’t even freaking fracking over with. By the time I wrote this article, I haven’t even seen Episode 87. But by the time I’ll be posting this article, I will be already be watching the newest episode. Again, Attack on Titan never fails to overshadow things.

One of which of being the main story and that is the WonderCon panel regarding The Bob’s Burgers Movie. Of course, we’re back into in-person conventions since COVID cases are continuing to dwindle despite the threat of an incoming sub-variant ready to knock on our door. We get some info from the Q&A session of the event, which is pretty much the whole thing before showing the first six minutes of the film as a sneak preview to anyone lucky enough to attend the panel.

First off, we might as well get the show’s spoilers out of the way coming from Bouchard and the rest of the cast and crew. In last year’s virtual panel, Bouchard did state that we would expect a two-parter based on Tina’s erotic friend fiction and will do a jab on the cyberpunk franchise “Blade Runner”. Again, haven’t seen the movie. Well, the original. I saw 2049, which is the sequel to the original. The shorts as in 2022: Blackout and also the shorts leading up to 2049. Not to mention, Black Lotus. Yeah, trying to study my brain when getting ready for that two-parter. Speaking of spoilers from the show, Ginger.

The press release for the April 24 episode, “Clear and Present Giger”, just came out last week and it revealed that Linda’s friend Ginger is making her way downtown and Linda has so many plans to do with her. Meaning, that we’re finally getting Ginger to be shown on the show. After being teased for twelve seasons coming from Linda’s mouth, it looks like we may finally, finally get to see Linda’s bestie for the restie, and hopefully, this doesn’t get turned into a rethread of “Thanks-hoarding”. Because we almost got to see Teddy’s parents when Teddy was in a state of panic when preparing his house for the holiday, but didn’t even bother to see them on the show. I pray that they don’t do that with Ginger. The woman who Linda likes to tease at the viewers since the start of the show. But will we get to see her though? We’ll have to find out on April 24 for the episode to be released.

Onto the movie news, we get some info and some more revealing than some. First off, we got the official setting for the film. In the synopsis back in January leading up to the night of the trailer during the National Championship game between Alabama and Georgia that Bob and Linda will be struggling to keep business afloat at the start of the summer. Hell, in the trailer, Tina mentions to Louise and Gene that, and I quote, “this Summer will be the Summer of Tina.” Well, it looks like coming from the panel, the movie will be set the week before the start of summer vacation. Probably means that days leading up to the last day of school or after is where the sinkhole begins to make its theatrical debut. Though I know this may seem like a long shot if we’re gonna be honest here and I know that the show doesn’t like to do the continuity route when it comes to characters as if we’re going to do some sort of anime time skip, it would be something if Tina were to bring up graduation. Because she’s in eighth grade. She’s in her last year in Wagstaff along with her siblings in the same school building and even though Season 13 and beyond may not address that, it would be interesting if Tina brings up the notion of graduating whether she’s gonna walk up on stage to get her certificate or attend summer school. Either way. I doubt that Tina and the rest of the eighth graders would move on up to high school at the start of the next season. Remember, “Bob Fire the Kids” in Season 3, that was set during summer break, and Tina’s education wasn’t brought up regarding her number grade.

What is also important coming from the panel is the question of Louise’s ears. It’s one of the burning questions that needed to be answered once the movie drops other than seeing what the maiden Pesto looks like or what happened to Bob’s mom. So Louise’s ears would be one of those questions that needed to be answered and it looks like we might have a chance to get some answers on May 27 when it gets released in theaters. Lots of theories floating around since the show began, ranging from looking like Linda to an issue at school to possibly a birth defect. Though the question of why Louise never took it off remains a mystery. Ever since that one scene in “Food Truckin’” where the food truck was flipped upside down and her hat is on her feet. Or in “Ear-sy Rider” where her ears got stolen by Logan and tried to get it back. Hell, in “Lice Things Are Lice” in Season 6 when Nurse Liz has everyone in lockdown because she thought that Tammy had contracted lice that in order to get rid of the problem, it would result in everyone getting a shaved head. Not enough for Will Smith to come and slap you silly for making that assumption. That caused Louise, and also Tammy, to be in a panic. Because it would result in them losing their hats. Louise being the prime person when dealing with that predicament. So having the question of why Louise never took off her ears is something that should be looked out for.

That and also putting some rest on the comparison with her and her Great North counterpart, Moon Tobin. Especially when The Great North first came out because Moon wears his bear suit much like Louise wearing her bunny ears. But the difference between those two is that we see Moon without the hood or suit in various episodes both in the previous season and the current season. Louise on the other hand, her hat is pretty much a security blanket. Why else why she refuses to take it off whether in various situations or even wearing it at the waterpark and even got it wet. And also most importantly, how did she get it? And who gave it to her? Hmm...think about it.

The runtime for the upcoming film will be less than two hours. Pretty much saved our bladders from the overhaul of going three hours. I mean, two hours of runtime or maybe an hour and fifty minutes. More or less. But yeah, The Simpsons Movie back in 2007 had that runtime, so it looks like The Bob’s Burgers Movie might be following suit. Possibly a few minutes more. More stuff is coming out from the panel about how they’re working back and forth between the film and the show. Could possibly have some people up in arms regarding the show’s declining...well, quality. Not to mention the lack of animators during the process, which I hope doesn’t spell any negatives once the movie comes out regarding the visuals and animation. Though it looks like being pushed back by the pandemic, while it had some downs regarding the release of the film, there are some ups because everyone has been working really hard to build this movie piece by piece.

Oh yeah, and the lucky bastards who went to the panel got the chance to see the first six minutes of the film. The first six minutes?! That’s insane, man. That’s freaking insane. And even though someone didn’t film it, even though during these events, it could result in someone with the camera being thrown out of the room, we got some hints courtesy of Laughing Place saying that the first six minutes of the film will include a flashback to start off the film before switching over to the present where we imagine the calm before the storm with the Belchers, primarily Bob and Linda having a musical number to start off the film. And according to the Laughing Place site, they said that the flashback is set six years earlier. So I’m probably gonna guess that it might be when Bob buys the restaurant. Possibly once the former tenet of the building Violet left is when Bob gets the mantle of the building. Though it started six years and not the full thirteen or more years because Bob moved out of his dad’s place around his 20s and after that, meeting Linda and the rest become history. Lots of speculation to be thrown around as we wait for the big day to arrive. So that’s pretty much a lot of time for everyone to speculate and create predictions from left to right.

But I think that’ll do it for this recap for the WonderCon panel (and also a quick fandom update regarding Attack on Titan). Something to pass the time while we wait for next week’s episode. So until then, follow me over on Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram for updates and behind-the-scenes stuff. The second round of the group stages has begun with Group A between Rukia Kuchiki from Bleach and Ryuko Matoi from Kill La Kill. Poll closes on Saturday.
