Bob's Burgers Season 16, Episode 2 Review: Crazy, Choosing, Love | yahoo201027's Bob's Burgers Reviews

Only two months left in the year, and it’s pretty much a safe bet to say that 2025 feels like the year of hell that it almost feels like it wants to rival 2020, or at least be like 2020 on who would be the worst year of the decade. The Great North getting cancelled, which was expected, but felt a sting on most people, so mainly myself, was one of the items on the list to tell you how much of a shit year that 2025 is, aside from the fact that the country, pretty much the world overall, is cooked. I don't know what 2026 has in store for us, if we reach 2026 first, but God, I hope... well, best I don't say anything else that would result in a possible jinx. And yes, I am aware that The Great North got cancelled. The news was slow to spread and took until this past Friday to make it official, even though some already picked it up, including me. I already did a piece on that, so check that out if you can. And I'm not going to stop talking about it since there's not going to be any more new material from it.

In this week's episode of Bob's Burgers, Gayle quickly gets engaged but has to choose the right man to be her husband, much to Linda's dismay, after realizing that she might live the rest of her life single and alone in my spoilerific review of the second episode of Season 16 of Bob's Burgers, titled “‘Til Death to Us Art”.

We're no strangers to love, and no, it's not a reference to “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley. It's basically human nature to have emotions and to find who would be the right person, whether it's a guy, a girl, or whatever the fuck they want to identify, to spend their life with till the end of time. It's challenging, sure, but who knows? Life knows how to throw a curveball to the point where you should've gotten used to the idea of facing the notion of uncertainty when it comes to this topic. How the fuck should I know? Especially coming from someone behind this post who is, of course, remained single and knows nothing about the world of romance. Could be worse... could be like Gayle in this episode.

Forcing yourself into marriage because you’re feeling as if you’re about to die single and alone, just because a family member has a happy life. That pretty much sums up Gayle’s life in a nutshell, going into this episode. Especially when it comes to the world of art, and having to come across two guys that she barely met, not having to turn it into a catfish situation, to the so-called “missing piece” that she is looking for when looking for a fella. As if we have ever dived into Gayle's relationship history or attempted to land a guy in her life. I mean, take a look at a few moments like her trying to seduce Bob after Bob mistakenly took her for Linda after her dental appointment. Her making out with her high school crush, Derek, at the end of their high school reunion. And, oh yeah, remember that brief moment in the series where she and Frond were together? You know? The one that was left hanging after a brief period, and has us pretend that never happened?

So, you could describe this as how love and marriage should be looked at, and how it compares to how everyone does it, taking steps and impressing enough to pop the question, versus how Gayle does it because... well, she's Gayle. So, you might as well interpret this as what justifies love and marriage between everyone and Gayle after noticing that she needs to find a man to be with. Surprising that it’s not a Valentine’s episode, given that it’s only October and the next episode after this one is a Halloween episode. And we might as well get down to the nitty-gritty of things for this episode, and this isn’t going to be me bashing on Gayle, by the way, this is “‘Til Death Do Us Art”.

So, the episode starts off with the Belchers having dinner while having Gayle over. Don’t know why Gayle is there unless it's for a special occasion or just there because there's an issue regarding her cats. But it's pretty much the first one for why we're having this dinner to kick off the episode, other than the family having spaghetti despite Gayle bringing in her own food in the form of oatmeal. And it all ties in to her spending time with a performing arts group that she is a part of, called the Performance Art Collective Workshop of Performance Artists, which is pretty much a group filled with up-and-coming artists wanting to show off their skills, and Gayle is one of them as she invites the family to attend the exhibit at the end of the week. And yes, it’s the whole family because Gayle mentions that the exhibit should be kid-friendly... if they can get past the nudity that comes with each exhibit. Hopefully, that doesn’t draw any controversy. But that's not important aside from Gayle being ready to present her art piece at the exhibit called “Gayle Gardens”, which is an art piece consisting of a romper and a hat out of fertilizer, mulch, and chicken wire that makes it look like a mobile garden, but that's not important for this episode...

It’s Gayle’s romantic life that is taking center stage or this episode during her time as a member of the performing arts group. She met two of the group members, named Victor, voiced by David Herman, and Dean, voiced by Mark Proksch, as two of the men that Gayle laid her eyes on. And it was quite the story that Gayle shared with the family when having to decide which of the two she plans on getting together with for hopefully the foreseeable future. The usual getting to know them, who they are, and what they like. You know, the usual meet-and-greet like it’s a round of speed dating. Pretty much normal unless you get paired with someone who is either a conspiracy nut, an NPC model, or someone with a criminal record. Or if you’re Gayle, the usual meet-and-greet... meet with her going at it with both Victor and Dean, respectively, during their respective meeting, into a quick and sloppy make-out session. As for to say who is who, Victory is the old guy who, according to Gayle, is brooding, mysterious, and super talented, who takes art seriously. The look does give it away that he is super cereal. And Dean is the young guy, probably around the same age or a year or two younger or older than Gayle, who happened to be... well, bland, but is on Gayle’s radar when looking for a fella.

Dinner comes to a close nearly an hour later, with everyone finishing eating their bowls of ice cream and Gayle ready to leave for the night after telling her time with the performance arts group and coming across two men that she hopes to choose either one to be Mr. Perfect. But not before Gayle decides to gift the Belchers a going-away present for the night for each member. In the form of a necklace... out of tampons. Because Gayle ran out of cotton balls, and makes you think she should have gone out to the store for a quick run to get some more, but decides that tampons should be the way to go. Got to improvise it somehow, and this has to be the way to go. It’s best not to question it and just go on with their night, which is for the kids to brush their teeth and go to bed, and for Bob and Linda...

Well... that. Linda has to rub Bob’s foot while the rest watch and question what is going on. Pretty much for the best to not question it since it's just a married couple doing married couple things. Foot rubbing is that one thing for a married couple like Bob and Linda would do. The kids are being told to go and do what they were supposed to do, which is to brush up and go to sleep, before Gayle tells them to wait because she has to go use the bathroom. Not like she's going to hold it on her way back to her place to do the job, so a quick pee break at the residence would do before heading out. Leaving the kids to watch the show of Linda giving Bob a foot massage. A mental image that they hopefully get out of their heads before going to sleep.

Gayle uses the bathroom, going into the next scene, and she’s getting a realization while taking a piss. A realization that she might die alone. The realization that she has been single throughout her life without landing someone to be with for the foreseeable future, when looking around the bathroom. Especially when looking at the set of toothbrushes with Bob and Linda’s toothbrushes touching each other, and the same goes for the set of razors and shampoo bottles, which I hope to God it's not another bottle that Linda found from the dumpster at Mort’s place, she had been single throughout her life. Seeing how happy her sister Linda is when being around Bob for nearly two decades has her thinking in her head that she is missing out on this. She is on what would have been for her if she had found the right person to be with. The same way you, or someone you know, who is single, notice a family member or a friend who is happily in a relationship or is married, and wonders if you're ever going to get that someday. And we’ve seen a few times in the show’s history where Gayle tried to land a guy to be with.

From "The Cook, The Steve, The Gayle, and Her Lover" (Season 6, Episode 6) | Air Date: January 17, 2016

Although we don’t count the episode “Dr. Yap” because that was her trying to seduce Bob after Bob mistakenly thought Gayle for Linda after his dental appointment and was high on gas following said appointment. And the same goes for “Topsy”, with her making out with Mr. Fischoeder after Tina nearly got packed by electrocution by Louise. So, I guess the closest she would get to a guy, whether it's through a make-out session, a one-time date, or was once in a relationship. The make-out session, other than Fischoeder, would be with her high school crush, Derek Dematopolis, at the aftermath of the high school reunion at the end of “Purple Rain-union”. The one-time date was with Stacy at the end of “The Gayle Tales’ after what she thought he stood her up ahead of a performance they were going to see. And, oh yeah, remember that one time when she was in a relationship with Mr. Frond? Yeah, that was quite a relationship that was never touched upon since then, as if they don’t know what the fuck they were doing.

Gayle has quite a relationship history throughout the show’s history, and now she’s realizing that she's been living the single life for far too long in her adult life, or her life as a whole, while her sister is dealing with a happy marriage and three kids. Wishing that she had that for herself, but with cats. I'm just hoping that neither Victor nor Dean will develop cat allergies of some sort. But other than that, the realization from Gayle while taking a piss after finding out that she has been single for far too long, after seeing Linda being happy when being around Bob. Let me illustrate, the foot rub that she saw before heading to the bathroom was pretty much the trigger for her to realize that she’s likely going to die alone if she doesn’t find the right person to be with. And boy, that didn’t take long for Gayle to do just that as she leaves the Belcher residence for the night to do some soul searching.

Going into the next scene to close out the first act of the episode, and it didn’t take a full 12 hours, as it is the morning hours with the kids getting ready to go out for school. Making her big announcement to the family as we prepare to enter the second act of the episode. And that is... she’s getting engaged. Yep, not even a full 12 hours since leaving the Belchers for the night, and already, she’s planning on getting married. But didn’t specify which of the two men she came across, Victor or Dean, that she plans on tying the knot with, to the point where you might as well treat the performance art group as her personal dating app. But yeah, Gayle is engaged, but again, didn’t specify which of the two men that she has chosen to tie the knot with, as if she was rushing the process, or as if we’re treating it as if she’s in the process of being catfished.

From "Can't Hardly Debate Adventure" (Season 3, Episode 15) | Air Date: March 12, 2023

Shades of Mullally’s other character from another show, maybe you heard of it, called The Great North, from the Season 3 episode “Can’t Hardly Date Adventure” where, like Gayle, you have Alyson rushing the process of getting engaged to someone whom she barely met. Though that was mostly because Alyson came across someone through a dating site and would end up being catfished by a guy who you would have to turn to the freaking subtitles to write the guy’s name or even pronounce, though that’s more of her online date making the decision, not the other way around. That, and also having Beef to go through the process of attempting to woo Alyson. Whereas Gayle, in this episode, much like Alyson, quickly gets into a committed relationship and ties the knot to someone or someones that she just met. And you already know where this is going, once we get into the planning stages in the second act and the lead-up to the altar, into the second half, planning on choosing either Victor or Dean for her to spend the rest of her life with.

So, going into the second act of the episode, the Belchers are stunned by the news of Gayle’s sudden engagement, despite her having yet to decide who she’s engaged to, but Linda is more stunned by it after hearing what she has just heard in the early morning hours. And as much as she wants to be happy about her sister’s engagement, despite all of this happening so quickly and having to pick who to marry, Linda thinks that Gayle is rushing this. She is rushing the process of getting married, rather, the process of love altogether. Which is the opposite of how romance works. But that’s not going to stop Gayle from doing that.

And, of course, she thanked Linda for giving her the idea. The realization that she had last night of her needing to find someone to spend her life with after being envious about Linda being happily married to Bob, mostly because of the foot massage, was the trigger to make the sudden move. She wants what Linda has, and she couldn’t wait any longer for her to find the right man to be her romantic partner. Even if it’s going to be quite the debate over how love and marriage usually work versus how Gayle does it with this situation. If this were a Valentine’s Day episode or a would-be Valentine’s Day episode, then maybe it should fit the mold with this one. But because it’s not, and especially since we have a Halloween episode after this one, and it happened to be a Gayle episode, we’re in for the long haul as the planning process begins to take its place... well, not right now, even though most of the activity would be off-camera. It’s more of what is going on going into the next scene once the kids return from school.

So, it’s the after-school hours with the kids returning home to school, and the planning stages are in full effect with the Belcher adults and Teddy having to help Gayle in trying to have her choose either Victor or Dean to be her “lawfully” wedded husband, much to Linda’s dismay because she is against what she is doing. I mean, Gayle being a part of the performance arts group is pretty much her personal dating app, and out of nowhere announces her engagement, no proposal whatsoever, was out of nowhere. Did I mention that she has yet to decide who to marry, because I’m pretty sure how a proposal works is with a romantic partner. At this point, you might as well treat this so-called “wedding” as something coming out of The Bachelorette. Because it is exactly what it is, with Gayle having to choose either Victor or Dean, like she’s the final rose. Unless she decides to convert to Mormonism and have a polygamous relationship in taking turns with Gayle. You could say that it’s weird, but Tina tried that at the end of “Two for Tina” when having to choose either Jimmy Jr or Josh, but wants to make things interesting in her liking to have a three-way.

Hours passed with the Belchers and Teddy going through notes on each guy, Victor and Dean, to be the right pick. And each one has different opinions to help Gayle make the right choice. Well, only the Belchers (except Linda) have written down their opinions, whereas Teddy... well, he wasn’t truly focused on the two men, but instead, on food. Oh, speaking of which, the wedding needs someone to officiate, and look no further than Teddy, who may know a thing or two about officiating a wedding because he was supposed to officiate his cousin’s wedding, even though... they didn’t say anything about Teddy whether or not he had the license to do the job. But that’s not going to stop Gayle from hiring Teddy to do the job. This is the closest you would have a Gayle and Teddy plot, folks. This is the closest you would get with these two together in a story plot of the episode. Even if Gayle did mistakenly call Teddy “Eddy” or “Eddie” when you put on closed captioning.

But yeah, the speed dating session was something when going through the notes that the Belchers wrote down on their opinions on Victor and Dean, pretty much a split decision with four of the five members siding on Victor and Dean, respectively while Linda, of course, still against the idea of Gayle forcing herself to marry to people she barley met and not know how the process work. And Teddy, of course, still has food on his mind. And it’s quite the uh... process we got with Gayle trying to have a normal meet-and-greet, like what happened back at the exhibit hall earlier in the week before things really cranked the weirdness up to eleven for both men. Mostly with how Gayle behaves throughout the speed dating process.

The dance was fine. Solid animation with Gayle doing some dancing along with Victor and later Dean, as if they’re putting on a show, even though it’s supposed to be helping Gayle find her fella. Then we get to the foot rub... let the record show that this whole charade started because Gayle saw Linda do the same with Bob. That, and also seeing a happy marriage. Victor seems fine and doesn’t seem bothered by it. Dean, on the other hand, was feeling some discomfort during the session when Gayle was rubbing his feet while he was doing the same to her. Yeah, the foot fetish people might be having themselves a field day with this episode, mostly with Linda giving Bob a foot massage and later Gayle with Victor and Dean, and the latter doing the same thing. But other than that, the family is torn about asking Gayle to pick either one ahead of the reception.

Of course, Linda is still on the fence about the idea of her sister rushing the marriage process, with Gayle still undecided on who she wants to be with. To the point where she wants Gayle to call off the wedding just for the sake of her sanity. And it’s not like she doesn’t want to be happy for her sister, which she should be, but doesn’t like the idea of how Gayle wants to do it her way, just because she wanted what Linda has, which is a happy marriage to be someone who would give foot massages, along with other things like hoping to not die alone going into old age.

And since we’re about to close up shop on the first half of the episode before going into the second half, Gayle thinks that Linda is a hater. Treating it as if, in Gayle’s perspective, doesn’t want her to be happy. You know, it’s supposed to be her special day coming up, even though I would have to agree with Linda on this one that Gayle is rushing this, especially when having to come across two men she just met and having to choose either one at the reception, like it’s coming out of The Bachelorette. Or in this case, something coming out of a wedding in Las Vegas, and for once, she was hoping for her sister, someone with whom she is closest for the longest, to at least be happy with all of this. Especially after feeling a bit envious over Linda being happily married to the man she loves and raising kids that she wants to have what she has. An easier way is just to say FOMO and just call it a day.

Gayle doesn’t like the negativity coming from Linda, even though, again, what she (Gayle) is doing isn’t how love and marriage work, and decides to pull out the hammer. The ban hammer, or ban, like ba-hun and not bæn, like you try to pronounce the word “aunt” in different countries (mostly the difference in the United States versus the likes of the United Kingdom and Australia). But other than that, to close out the first half of the episode, Linda is off the invite because of her opposing Gayle’s decision to wed. And with that, the wedding is on, just without Linda. And also, Gloria and Al, I just noticed that if this is going to be her wedding, you’d think the parents would attend the event... well, unless the bride or groom happened to be orphaned or have at least one parent, then that’s a whole different story. But yeah, no Gloria and Al to attend the so-called “wedding”. And my guess would be... well, obviously, the flight, and also how sudden this all came to be. But also, remember that small lie to Gloria and Al about Gayle having a wonderful life, living in a nice house, and with a rich husband? Oh yeah, that lie would crumble into pieces if they were to attend the “wedding” at the art exhibit. Just putting that out there as a firm realization, if you’re wondering where Gloria and Al are and why they’re not present in this episode.

Going into the second half of the episode, arriving at the day of the “wedding”, and despite that she got banned from attending the so-called event at the art exhibit, Linda remains committed to crashing the wedding and putting an end to this charade. Even if she has to crash the wedding and probably kidnap her and hold her hostage if she has to. Probably going for the usual unhinge Linda route if it means knocking some sense into Gayle as the Belchers arrive at the building where the exhibit and wedding are being held. I mean, it’s not like Gayle would go the whole nine yards, going into the planning stages, by hiring security to block Linda from entering, right?

Gayle went the full nine yards and hired security to prevent Linda from entering the building. Gayle went as far as hiring security to prevent her own sister from attending her wedding, as if she knew that she would attend despite having her invitation revoked because of her being against the marriage. I mean, granted, it is an art exhibit. So, of course, you would have security involved to have the place secured so that nothing bad happens, and it’s pretty much Gayle requesting the security guard to make sure Linda doesn’t enter the building. Especially when giving him a photo of a slurred Linda, but it should be enough to create a roadblock for Linda, but let Bob and the kids in.

Bob and the kids enter the building, but not before Linda tells Bob to let her in through the back, since it’s the only way to get in to stop the wedding. The Belchers take a tour across each exhibit, separately, of course, with the kids doing their own thing when exploring each exhibit. Bob does as Linda tells him and heads straight towards the back of the building, where the back door is. The only problem is that the back door... is surrounded by many doors. Taking the phrase “life has many doors” a little too literally with that exhibit. And yes, that is an exhibit. Having to turn this into a game of Guess the Door to the Exit. Which would be a total nightmare if something bad happened because the back door usually serves as an emergency exit. A total PR nightmare for the artist behind that exhibit if something bad happened, like a fire or a shooting, in GTA.

At least the kids are having a time taking a stroll through each exhibit. Tina saw a woman having her hair tangled into a potted tree branch, not knowing that it was part of the exhibit. Gene saw a woman on her phone, which didn’t feel like an exhibit at all, when looking at her delivery order. At least Louise is having some fun at one of the exhibits, which is her shooting Nerf darts like she’s shooting projectiles towards different places of the world... or primarily the Americas (both North and South) and not show Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania as if the guy behind the exhibit were going to bring a big ass globe. But it would end up being treated as a sample platter at the grocery store once the artist behind the piece tries to take the gun away from Louise, just as Louise was in the zone.

Linda tries to get her inside from the back as if Bob wasn’t going to do shit, not knowing that the back door is surrounded by a lot of doors, all with dead ends, or expecting the trip to the backrooms or the Infinity Castle from Demon Slayer. Only to be stopped by the security guard standing in the way as if he already knew what Linda was planning. And the same applies to Bob in his attempt, at Linda’s request, to sneak her in after being pushed away. Jesus Christ, it’s like the guy has some sort of hidden ability to sense what the person is planning on doing. Either that, or he probably overheard the conversation while allowing the attendees into the exhibit.

But before we get to Linda, we have to check up on Teddy with Victor and Dean, dressed from their casual attire to their formal attire, as they prepare for the reception and for either of them to be picked by Gayle. Having to check their names on the list, their full names to be exact, where Dean’s full name is just a simple name, as Dean Smith. Whereas Victor’s full name happened to be Victor Vipin Shtaphinogen. Quite the name and probably going to be hard to spell, let alone pronounce it if you’re Teddy throughout the reception.

Back to Linda, no entry because the security guard stopped her at the door, and the same goes for Bob, just moments later, but that’s not going to stop Linda from having to take drastic measures to find another way to get into the building. Climbing up to the roof to find another way to get into the building, as if the place had a door from upstairs and a ladder for her to run down. Hell, an air duct would’ve been the way to go, but you don’t have any air duct box whatever, to serve as an entrance and crawl herself into the reception as if it’s coming out of Die Hard. And it looks like Linda might as well do it quickly.

Because going into the end of the third act of the episode and into the fourth and final act, the wedding march plays. And in comes Gayle, going across the aisle, donning a wedding dress on her way to meet either one of the two men who would become her husband. Leaning herself on the glass and knocking on it, hoping for Gayle to listen to her as which is pretty much her only shot to get her to change her mind. Show of hands, who here thought that the glass that Linda was leaning against and knocking would be more than enough for it to break and her to fall to the ground? Because I thought it was going to happen if Linda were to continue to knock on the glass as hard as she could to get Gayle’s attention.

That, of course, didn’t happen, but imagine if that did happen as the reception is about to take place. It would’ve been a showstopper and for the wrong reasons to stop a wedding. But anyway, Linda continues to knock on the glass as hard as she can to interrupt the wedding once Gayle reaches the aisle. She notices the pounding from Linda when looking up to the roof, but ends up ignoring it and has the event go as planned despite the knocking on the glass. And who knows how long until the glass begins to show some signs of cracking, and for Linda to fall. Once again, that didn’t happen, but imagine if it did. But Linda’s yelling and her knocking on the glass window didn’t stop Gayle from finally having some sense knocked into her. You know what did? Especially since we’re nearing the two-minute warning? The tampon necklace that Gayle made for the family, with Linda wearing it as a plot device.

That’s right, folks. The necklace that Gayle made when she saw Linda wearing it around her neck is more than enough for Gayle to realize that what she is doing is wrong, and she decides to experience a come-to-Jesus moment by wanting to put a halt to the wedding. Telling Teddy that she wants to object, even though we have yet to reach the moment of the wedding where the officiator tells everyone in the room to either make some objections or just let the wedding go as planned. Most weddings these days just let the process go through. It’s usually in most TV shows or movies, wherever there’s a wedding, you know that something is about to go down to disrupt the special day of the bride and groom or bride and bride or groom and groom.

That is... somewhat was going down entering the two-minute warning of the episode, with the wedding skipping over to the part where the bride and groom would hold their peace at Gayle’s request for her to object to the wedding. Finally realizing that what she is doing is wrong, both in how she views the marriage process and what she is supposed to be doing by having the wedding on The Bachelorette with her as the final rose. Though you’d think that with someone like the bride objecting to the would-be vow would probably be the abrupt end to the wedding. Treating nothing more than a waste of time. Even though it is leading up to this exact moment. But nope, Gayle decides to twist things around where, rather than end the wedding after telling both Dean and Victor to go kick rocks...

She decides to marry herself. That’s right, Gayle, rather than not picking either Victor or Dean, or calling the wedding off altogether, decides to marry herself. You’d think that it’s weird, even though this is Gayle we’re talking about, so... what else is new, there’s a thing called sologamy. And yes, that is a real thing. It’s an actual thing. This is what we’re seeing in real time with Gayle because she can’t get out of a wedding like this one after finding out that she had been single throughout her entire life, and has to deal with Linda being happily married with Bob, wishing she had that experience. Even though she pulled the sologamy card out of her deck because of wanted to embrace who she is and such. I mean, it’s 2025 going into 2026 in a couple of months, so if you want to do just that, like what Gayle did, you do you. That’s your choice. I have no dog in this fight.

Other than the fact that it’s all a waste of time, as expected, with only less than two minutes left in the episode’s runtime, she can’t get out of this one because of the planning and possibly the funding going into this, so self-love would have to be the way to go. So, I guess congrats to Mrs. and Mrs. Gayle Genarro... if you want to call it that, even though she might end up finding someone probably the next time we see her. And no, I wouldn’t go as far as Gayle treating this as a PR stunt ahead of the art show like she’s some sort of market manipulator or something. Though never underestimate Gayle regarding whatever, whenever she appears.

We reached the end of the episode with the Belchers heading home after what had just transpired at the reception. At least Linda and Gayle made up after what happened, so that’s one bright spot in the aftermath of this. That, and also Bob accepting the notion that you’re fine just the way you are. Love yourself. You know, Disney Channel style writing as if Gayle inspired Bob about self-love. Even if the kids think as if something is off with Bob, with him showing some positivity from someone who often is negative at times. And the moral of this story... well, just follow Linda’s suggestion and not rush into the process of love. I know that life is short, but don’t rush shit, alright. Don’t rush it.

Reaction/Thought:

So, all and all, what do I think about this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers? For this being the overall 300th episode of Bob’s Burgers, when following the episode count, this was average. In my opinion, this was average. Middle of the road. And it happened to be a Gayle episode, which, again, this isn’t me bashing on her since she has had good episodes as of late. So, I might be in possibly the minority here of saying that I’m feeling neutral on it.

The outcome was predictable when it came to the lead-up to the wedding, with Gayle not having to choose either Dean or Victor to be her husband, pretty much treating it as a waste of time. Though I didn’t expect her to pull the sologamy card, if you want to interpret it after having to object to the wedding that she planned after the sudden announcement, after the firm realization of having to be single throughout her life, and wanting what Linda has. And using her performing arts group as her personal dating app.

I don’t have anything else to say about this, so apologies for that, but it’s an average episode. Middle of the road. Pretty much the minority here on how I think about the episode. Though the rewatch factor is there, so there’s that after the first viewing, just to gather up some thoughts. So, once again, apologies for not having a lot to say about the episode other than that it’s average at best. So, I’ll give “‘Til Death Do Us Art”...

A 6 out of 10. But that’s my opinion, and I want to hear yours in the comments below. No new episode on the week of October 12, probably because of baseball taking its spot, but who knows, other than we are off that week. But we return on October 19 with a Halloween episode, yes, it’s that time of year again, where this time around, it’s the Belcher kids plotting a rescue mission to save Teddy from the building next door during the night. Probably thinking that the new owner may or may not be a vampire of some sort in the third episode of Season 16 (the twelfth Halloween episode of the series) in “The Twinnening”.

Follow me on Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, Mastodon, BlueSky, and Threads for updates and behind-the-scenes stuff. No matches this week, but the 2025 Battle of the Week Voting Tournament resumes next week with the first match of the Semifinals between Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) and Rin Okumura (Blue Exorcist) on October 12 for the Alpha Party Nomination.
