Bob's Burgers Season 15, Episode 10 Review: The Advice That Keeps Lies Givings Going into 2025 | yahoo201027's Bob's Burgers Reviews

And so, here we are. The end of 2024 (or the start of 2025) and what a year this was... many things happened from start to finish that came out this year. I’m not kidding, there was a lot of bullshit that occurred this year. Normally, this would be where the year-end countdown would’ve taken place. Should’ve been at the finish line with the top three but instead, if y’all haven’t checked my social pages, the year-end countdown is set for January. And now, with the announcement for the Winter lineup with only The Great North returning slated for the week after the Super Bowl, February 16, I’ll find a date for when the countdown to take place, early-to-mid January to be the likely bet on when to finally get it out after having it delayed thanks to the scheduling department at FOX with their mismanagement. God, I hope things get better come 2025... probably not but who knows.

On this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers as we close out 2024 and ring in 2025, Tina takes up the position of the advice columnist for her school newspaper and Louise (and Linda) decide to send fake letters to help her with her advice column piece as Teddy tries to impress a group that he is eying for him to join by creating a float for the upcoming parade in my spoilerific review of the tenth episode of Season 15 of Bob’s Burgers, titled “Advice Things Are Ad-Nice”.

This is the first episode in over ten years where a Christmas episode isn’t the last one of the year before going into the Winter break, consider that a fun fact. And for an episode to close out the year, especially this late in the year thanks in part to the scheduling department’s incompetence, this was an okay episode. I mean, not much to say about the episode when it comes to the introduction other than it almost feels like a carbon copy of “Tina and the Real Ghost”, just replace the supposed ghost in the shoe box with an e-mail to help Tina with her advice column just to get into her good side. And you’ll see what incident serves as the first spark to where we’re going in this episode in a bit.

I mean, when the synopsis came out a few weeks ago for the episode when mentioning the school newspaper, I thought that there would be some sort of expansion within the worldbuilding of the show and see a classroom where they operate the newspaper much like with the school’s news show and for Tina to somewhat expand her journalistic intents. I guess I only said that because of that one fan art I came across on Tumblr back in July but I guess that’s not the case; instead, it’s Tina having to use her people skills when becoming the school’s advice columnist and having to have her identity secured so she doesn’t expose herself.

Especially because this episode, or at least a portion of it, was shown via an animatic at the D23 Expo back in August in anticipation of the show’s fifteenth and current season, so might as well consider that a heads up leading up to the premiere of this week’s episode as we prepare to enter the new year, or I guess by the review comes out, it will be 2025 already in portions of the world. So, might as well get this episode out as we get ready to ring in the new year, this is “Advice Things Are Ad-Nice”.

The episode begins with Tina getting ready for her day. Putting her clothes on the bed and is ready to change out from her sleepwear to her causal clothing where she notices something just as she is about to pull down her pants so she can put on her skirt. You probably can’t see because... well, y’all already know, it’s weird. But it was described later in the morning once Tina finishes changing and makes her way to the breakfast table as a pimple located by her butt. Welcome to the world of being a teenager, Tina. Where you have to deal with something like acne ready to cover your body and it’s not just the face that should be a concern. Other than that, a small issue for Tina to start the day with her spotting a pimple on her butt shouldn’t sour her morning. Or so she thought...

Going into the next scene once Tina enters the kitchen, fully dressed after noticing a pimple on her butt, and was about to get herself a bowl of cereal, the chocolate Chompy Chomps cereal, only for her to deal with an empty box and is upset about her not getting her portion of the cereal. She questions Gene if he took a portion that was supposed to belong to her, but he’s clear to go after he tells Tina that he only took one bowl portion and that’s about it. So of course, it’s Louise who gets to be put on blast for taking what was supposed to be Tina’s portion and using it as her (Louise's) second bowl. All because it’s a chocolate-flavored cereal and can be addictive and you can’t stop eating it until the box is empty. Jeez, first the horse figure, now the cereal... it’s like we haven’t learned our lesson from what happened a couple of episodes ago.

Oh yeah, and there’s an event coming up as brought up by Bob when talking about the town’s upcoming parade called the Bounty of the Bay Parade and it’s one of I guess many parades for the city in comparison to the Land Ship parade or the Bog to Beach parade. There are a lot of parades for this town and it looks like it’s Wagstaff’s time to shine because the Bounty of the Bay Parade picks different schools from across the district, not the town, the school district, and Wagstaff gets chosen to represent at the event with the students having to choose which random student will serve as the ambassador to ride on the float as it follows the parade float. An event that will tie in with the main plot and the subplot later on leading up to the day of the event. So for now, we stick with the main plot for a bit...

We go to the school later in the day with Tina minding her business, on her way to her next class, where she notices Frond having his own problems at his office, as seen with him at his computer, that blocky, old computer that it’s probably an old-school version that runs Windows 95. And much like with “The Tina Table: The Tables Have Tina-ed” and “Colon-ly the Dronely”, Principal Spoors is on his ass with Frond getting an e-mail from him. The e-mail that Frond got from Spoors reveals, at least according to Frond, that Spoors was bragging about the school’s advice column called “Ask an Eighth Grader”, where a random eighth grader in the school gets picked to become the paper’s advice columnist, but has to keep their identity a secret. The school newspaper had that before finding out that the advice column isn’t all that popular with the students but tries to keep it going because the previous eighth grader graduated a long time ago.

So a busy task for Frond with him having to run the paper because the head of the school newspaper, Ms. Persky, had to go on maternity leave in I guess a missed opportunity to see the room where the school newspaper is, probably at a journalism class, and see which set of characters are there as members of the press who are not aligned with the school news on TV. At least we know who’s running the show, who’s currently out at the moment, and not a faculty member that we know of. On top of all that, Frond also has to run the ballot so he can prepare himself to announce who will be the school’s representative for the upcoming parade, so his hands are pretty much tied. And because Tina witnessed all of this, because his office door was open for anyone to see, she gets selected by Frond to be the new eighth-grade advice columnist for the school newspaper. Though same, Tina, same on being shit on giving out advice. If you’re asking me to give out a piece of advice or two, ask someone else. Your boy sucks at giving out advice.

We switch over to the restaurant with the subplot with Teddy entering and has something on his mind that he needs some help. Parade fever is in full swing across town and for Teddy, with the day of the parade drawing near, there’s a group of people that he wants to impress and the parade seems to be the perfect opportunity for him to do just that. The group that he’s eyeing is called the Order of the Pioneers, a pretty exclusive club that we don’t know anything about or what kind of group they are aside from being a historic fraternal society but that is the group that Teddy wants to join but is impossible to do just that. So the upcoming parade is his only shot to impress the society so he can join them in their ranks. And the society decided to give Teddy a simple commission for him to do in an attempt for him to join their ranks and that is to build a float for them. Seems simple enough... except for having to build a float for a historical society whose requirements are the same way as having to get into a fancy restaurant or I guess running for political office... before finding out that committing a crime is now a requirement for President. And knowing societies like that, who knows if a simple design to build a float becomes complicated as the week progresses just by making some changes.

Going back to the school with the lunch hour taking place as Frond prepares to make a few announcements to the school about a few things but needs everyone’s attention and for them to be quiet, which also includes Peter Pescadero catching strays just for him slurping. So the announcement is as follows: The first is the ballot opening up for the students to choose who will be the ambassador for the upcoming parade later this week. Hence, you have a small scene of Tammy really pushing her ego with her being optimistic that she hopes to be the one being chosen to represent the school and that shtick sticks around throughout the first half of the episode up until the results are called once we get to the halfway point. And for the second announcement, is the return of the “Ask the Eighth Grader” advice column in the school newspaper.

And for Tina, when being given the task of keeping her identity a secret since being tapped as the new advice columnist, she is really not getting the whole “being anonymous” settled once Frond brought up the announcement of bringing back the “Ask the Eighth Grader” advice column. Especially when telling Gene her identity in what is pretty much her already desperate for anyone in the school to send her a message that is not the spam variety you find in your spam folder like pills for your dong or a political party asking for donations weeks after they lost the election. Louise tries to butt in, only for Tina to stop her as she is still mad at her for taking her portion of her cereal earlier this morning. Like, girl... it’s not that deep, come on.

Going into the montage to bypass through the first act of the episode, it looks like no one has come forward to send a letter for Tina to work her charm to send out advice or two. She checked through the inbox each time she turned on the laptop, abusing the refresh button, hoping for each passing moment to be the moment for her to get the first message for her to answer but, of course, not one letter in her inbox. I guess Frond is right about no one not giving a crap about the advice column as if they want to keep their problems all to themselves and that’s fine, I mean, for personal reasons, it’s best to not share but it has to be to the point where maybe you need some help if the situation you’re in is considered dire, to say the least. All the way to the dinner table where, of course, not a single letter for her in the inbox. Already having Tina feel desperate as if it’s the Valentine’s booth all over again.

If y’all remember, in the subplot of “The Gene and Courtney Show”, Tina volunteered to run the school’s booth for Valentine's Day to collect the letters so she can send them to the students who get the said letters and a rose, that Bob forgot to get but ended up getting at the last minute, and she thought she didn’t get any when becoming desperate when going through the box... only for Valentine’s Day to arrive, having to deliver the letters and roses, and having to hear Gene’s performance through the P.A. after going through a second breakup with Courtney, having to spend the day empty-handed before Jimmy Jr comes in and gives her a card and rose. Yeah, it’s like that... minus the latter parts that I mentioned when bringing up that episode as a comparison. But it looks like Tina will be getting her first letter soon...

When we get to the end of the first act of the episode, the scene that was shown in the animatic from the D23 Expo earlier this year, it’s Louise who is doing the dirty work by pretending to be the person who will be sending Tina the first letter to her inbox while everyone is asleep. That was until she got caught by Linda when spotting her with the laptop before telling her that it was nothing so she got her mother off of her back... before getting caught again and deciding to step in to see what Louise was doing. Louise plans on sending the letter to Tina by pretending to be a fake eighth grader by going through Tina’s journal as a reference to create a conversation as her way to make up to her eldest sister over what happened earlier in the day over eating her portion of the cereal, which again, it’s NOT... THAT... deep. Sure, we can be mad over something simple like a last slice of pizza or a parking spot on your way to work, but again, it’s NOT THAT deep enough to cause an argument or something worse. Louise writes the letter and Linda joins her daughter in helping her out if it means helping Tina with her job as the advice columnist at the school, not knowing that it’s them doing it as if it’s stabbing her in the back and something that is likely going to bite them in the ass as the episode progresses, especially Louise who has started the sending of the letters under a fake persona.

Onto the second act of the episode and going into the next day and as everyone is at the breakfast table with Tina coming in and like a kid on Christmas... days after Christmas, she finally got a letter that was sent overnight. Once again, not knowing that Louise and Linda were the ones who sent the letter and not some random student even though Louise is a student but would probably be sent to the trash because family members I guess don’t count and is also still mad at Louise for taking her portion of the cereal the other day. But yeah, Tina got her first letter from an anonymous student with the alias “Am I Normal”, whether it’s a guy or a girl or whatever gender, I don’t judge, it is almost 2025, but Tina got the letter, not knowing that the letter is from inside the house, and is glad that she got it so she can answer with whatever advice she can give so it can be put on the school’s paper. And so begins the lie game from Louise and Linda after what they think they did a good thing because she was getting desperate but would know that sooner or later, it’s going to blow up to their faces.

Going back to the subplot with Teddy now has to find a way to make the float perfect in his attempt to please the group he is hoping to join. And one of the items that Teddy wants to test out for the float that he is building leading up to the day of the parade... you’re looking at it—the bubble machine. And there were a lot of bubbles coming out from the machine that caused it to flood the restaurant with bubbles since it will be used for the float, apparently, the float design will be the fish for the society, just FYI, but yeah, that’s a lot of bubbles. I mean, there are a lot of bubbles since it’s taking over the place to the point where you have one customer getting annoyed over being surrounded by the bubbles that Teddy launched as a test ahead of the parade later in the week.

Switching over to the school and as Tammy continues to push everyone to vote for her for the ambassador for the parade to represent the school in her desperate attempt to take the reigns once the day of the event arrives, it looks like the conversation between Tina and the mysterious sender, not knowing that it’s all Louise’s (and Linda’s) doing, is taking over the school by storm and has gotten every student’s attention. We see that with Zeke reading the column on his phone, him reading the message that was sent by the alias “Miss Am I Normal” and the reply by Tina that got everyone’s attention and made them feel better about themselves. Feeling touched about a response like with Zeke for example when it comes to insecurities like with their bodies. You know? Someone who the students can relate to and the response that they needed to read.

Enough to cause a storm to erupt, in a good way, once we switched over to the cafeteria later in the school day. And whether it’s a group of students reading the paper or on their phones and seeing the site of the school newspaper or two students walking by the table where the Belcher siblings are sitting with one girl with curly hair having an excessive amount of acne across her face, for someone who earlier in the episode came out to say that she sucks at giving out advice, unless it’s a romantic one, then that’s a different story, it seems that Tina’s little advice for the paper created quite the pandemonium over what she said even though the main attraction is the mystery of “Miss Am I Normal”, not knowing that it’s Louise who is doing the heavy lifting.

Especially going into the next scene with her and Linda later in the night with the two coming up with new ideas to send Tina more letters so she can answer just to boost Tina with her job as the advice columnist and for the pandemonium across the school continue to take over as long as they continue to keep their identity hidden. But for how long becomes the name of the game as the episode progresses... especially during the second act. But for now, going through the montage once more to bypass the second act of the episode with pandemonium continuing to rock the school as Louise and Linda continue to send Tina letters to help her with her gig and for Tina to respond so the school reads all about it. And surely, whatever is going on currently in the school doesn’t draw away attention from another event that is supposed to take place. Especially the election of having to pick who will represent the school for the upcoming parade. Also, Peter catches strays again from the slurping sounds he’s making. Like, bro, he didn’t do anything wrong. It’s like that meme video of 50 Cent saying “Why you yelling fuck me for?” with Peter in this episode when being told not to slurp by Frond and now Louise.

The school day ends and you have Teddy back at the restaurant, feeling exhausted upon entering. Having to work for the past few days having to build and operate the float as the day of the parade is getting closer. A lot of pressure mounting for the guy in his attempt to impress the group that he’s aiming to join with the parade as his window of opportunity to join. Lots of pressure for Teddy when having to build and operate the fish, especially operating the mechanics to make sure things do not fall apart with the giant fish. Mostly with its mouth and the bubble machine because the idea he was going with is to have the fish open and close its mouth and bubbles would come out with the mouth open as if it is breathing underwater.

And while Teddy has difficulties of his own, the kids return home from school and tell Bob and Linda about the whole pandemonium that is currently taking place with the advice column taking the school by storm thanks in part to Louise and Linda sending the letters to Tina by pretending to be a made-up student just to appease her. And they do it again once the night hits while everyone is asleep. Hoping to keep the facade going and their identities hidden but again, for how long? Because we’re nearing the end of the first half of the episode and it won’t be long until the walls begin to crack. This lie can’t keep going as the school picks up what is pretty much Miss All Normal-mania as they continue to do what they’re doing to Tina, just to make her happy and her job easier. You wanna know how serious this shit has gotten within the school grounds? A random student started a podcast over this situation. A fucking podcast and it got a fucking sponsor. Peak 2025 and the year just barely started. Having to capitalize on ongoing events like the ongoing “Miss All Normal” fiasco at Wagstaff. This pretty much tells you how incredibly insane and yet incredibly stupid this fiasco is as if it’s some sort of trend that sooner or later will phase out of their lives.

And we don’t have to wait for too long for the lies to finally catch up to Louise (and Linda but mostly Louise since she started the whole thing) once we get to the lunch hour at school with everyone reading the latest installment of the advice column with the latest post almost feels like a going away piece because she knows that the fake persona she created is fastly becoming a celebrity within the school grounds and she has to find a way to make sure she doesn’t get exposed so she doesn’t upset Tina for what she did. Hence, the latest piece with everyone jumping to conclusions thinking that Miss Am I Normal would be a disappointment if she were to show her face. For Louise, she hopes that this will be the final chapter of the persona that she created just to please her sister. Except for one little problem as we prepare to close out the first half of the episode and her facial expression says it all.

Miss Am I’m Normal has been tapped as the ambassador for the school for the upcoming parade. A lot of people voted for the mysterious student over any other students to be the representative for the school with Tammy, hoping to be the one to win the contest, which is I guess obvious that the students aren't going to choose her to represent them but the fact that she lost the contest and to someone who doesn't freaking exist since Louise and Linda fired the first shot by sending the letter to Tina seems too embarrassing for her to deal with this kind of loss.

So, Louise’s fake persona got tapped as the ambassador for the parade, guess we know why you shouldn't let students vote in something like picking who will be at the parade, and that's more than enough for Louise to come clean and confess to Tina that she’s Miss Am I Normal and that both she and Linda have something to do with all of this just to make Tina happy and forget about the cereal incident days ago. Pissing Tina off over what her sister and mother did by colluding to send the fake letters to her because Tina was desperate to get a single letter. And to make things worse for Louise and now Tina upon finding out the identity of the now no longer mysterious student as we wrap up the first half of the episode and go to the second half...

Tammy barges to the stand and lies to the school by taking the “Miss Am I Normal” persona after losing the ambassador of the parade contest embarrassingly. Breathing in an excessive amount of copium and this is pretty much her only shot at the last minutes after losing the contest and now, she’s the talk of the school as we enter the third act of the episode. Especially after Louise comes clean by confessing to Tina of her being the mysterious student that took the school by storm. Almost eerily similar to what we saw in “Tina and the Real Ghost” with all of this nonsense.

We go back to the restaurant with Bob getting a phone call and it’s Teddy calling him from a different and newer area, that being the bathroom of the Pioneer’s lodge. You can see why Teddy wants to join the group, not by looking at how fancy and clean the bathroom is but that’s what you get from a group of people who you probably think it’s filled with rich snobs whenever you first come up when bringing up fraternal societies. Not to mention that there’s a pool table, a bar, books on the shelves, and rugs... there’s not a lot to say about this scene other than Teddy rambling about how fancy the lodge looks as he continues to undergo pressure over having to build the float ahead of the parade in the coming days other than Teddy telling Bob about the status of the grouper float that it looks a bit of a mess but it’s getting there. It’s getting there and hopefully, be good to go once Parade Day arrives.

So now, we get to the confrontation between Tina and Tammy after what just happened earlier in the day at the cafeteria. And we have a couple of truth bombs being dropped by Tina to Tammy on what is actually happening just so Tammy can get her head straight after losing the contest and then steal the spotlight with the “Miss Am I Normal” alias like it’s an election in a third-world country. We know Tammy is lying, we get that after what we all saw just a couple of scenes ago. We know that Tammy is not “Miss Am I Normal” after losing to a student who doesn’t even exist, breathing in an excessive amount of copium in a canister, because Tina tells Tammy that she’s not “Miss Am I Normal”, Louise and Linda are, though more on Louise since she was the one who fired the first shot, so technically, Louise should be the ambassador to the parade since she created the fake persona in the first place. So that’s the first truth bomb and here comes the second, Tina reveals herself as the columnist who gave Louise and Linda the advice that took the school by storm.

And oh boy, quite the rabbit hole that Tina has fallen deep when it comes to the lie game. Especially with Tammy of all people when trying to get her to think straight as if she wants her to step aside while she’s ahead. Of course, Tammy won’t budge because she wants the gig and she makes sure that neither she nor Tina, but especially Tammy herself, expose themselves to the audience once the day of the parade arrives because having to deal with an audience being upset over the ultimate truth bomb being dropped is the last thing that neither party wants that could potentially ruin their reputation. Although, are we not going to pretend that three students were there by the lockers where the conversation was taking place? You’d think they probably overheard the conversation and that would be the last thing Tina and Tammy (as well as Louise and Linda) want.

The day of the parade has finally arrived and we check up on Teddy with him putting in the finishing touches to the grouper float for the Pioneers and lo and behold, he got the thing to work. The mechanics working fine with the mouth and eyes moving and the bubbles coming out with the bubble machine working, this float should be a shoo-in for Teddy to get his invite accepted by the group... well until running into some issues that caused the thing to stop working and decides to get back into fixing it, even if it means having to stick around and ride through the streets to get this thing to work in front of the crowd. Speaking off...

We get to the peanut gallery where the Belchers are sitting in attendance as they, along with the rest of the town, watch the parade unfold and an awkward one at that after what happened earlier with Louise having to come clean to Tina about her being “Miss Am I Normal”. Tina, of course, is mad at Louise for creating the lie by creating a fake persona that Tammy ended up claiming as herself just to get the ambassador gig (and also the cereal incident a few days ago) and now at Linda for conspiring with Louise for the fake persona. Though props for Bob for not being a part of this mess once Linda brings up that Tina is mad at them, that being herself and Linda, but tries to drag Bob as if he has something to do with it but in reality, it’s not. Pretty much him saying to Linda, “We? Who’s we? I ain’t involved in this shit. I’m not a part of this team. I’m just minding my own business. That’s y’all’s problem.” So after seeing a few performances passing by, including a group of elderly women still kicking it in a marching band...

Here comes Tammy as “Miss Am I Normal” as the faux celebrity of the school just to get the gig once her float comes into the scene and makes her way to the stage once her float stops so she can present herself to the audience. The announcer, who is the TV meteorologist on the news, brings up a couple of items from the letters that sparked the phenomenon all across the school like the butt pimple, and the walls of lies begin to quickly crumble as Tammy continues to speak as we prepare to close out the third act of the episode and going into the fourth and final act. And you can see why no one wants Tammy to be chosen as the ambassador aside from... well, it’s Tammy, that’s the only explanation you get for why people went from the student who doesn’t exist over her.

And much like with her trying to impress Brett if you remember him from Season 8’s “Sleeping with the Frenemy”, she ends up tripping on her words once the lies are starting to be revealed to the point where it ends up turning into a roasting session and quietly revealing herself to not be the person everyone thought she is and putting everyone on edge, especially Tina who is, of course, caught in the web of lies created by Louise and Linda, but mostly Tina just getting the gig as the columnist... who had to be tapped by Frond whose hands were tied earlier in the episode... how are we not blaming Frond for starting the whole kit and kaboodle in the first place?! He roped Tina into this, causing Louise and Linda to rope themselves by sending the letters, and then Tammy had to rope herself into the mess after losing the contest and ended up taking the alias so she could get the gig. How is he not to blame?!

Of course, Tina has to come in and try to save the day and also try to bail Tammy out by exposing herself to the audience that she’s the advice columnist. She had to come out, to tell the truth about what happened because the lying game was getting ridiculous the moment she got the gig and the moment Louise came clean to her the moment the fake persona was tapped as the ambassador for the parade that led to Tammy to take the alias so she can be ambassador after losing to a student that doesn’t exist, she had to let it out because she’s tired of the fraud game taking over the school. Tina thought that telling the truth would be a good idea by telling the audience that she’s the advice columnist and telling them that “Miss Am I Normal” doesn’t exist... more fuel into the fire. She is making things worse. The students are getting upset over what they’re hearing coming from Tammy and now Tina as Tammy prepares to make her way out as if she’s gonna let Tina take all of the blame, which once again, how the fuck is Frond not to blame for this? Sure, Tina was the one who responded to the letters that led to the whole thing blowing up, but he was the one who tapped Tina into this, so there has to be some blame.

This now causes Louise to step up to the plate to bail Tina from possible retaliation as she now confesses to the public as “Miss Am I Normal” since she was the one who sent Tina the letters that led to everything that blew up across the school. And yes, we have ourselves an “I am Spartacus” moment with her, Linda, and the rest of the school taking the “Miss Am I Normal” label because even though they’ve been lied to after the truth came out by Tina after Tammy tripped on her words one too many times when taking the stage, they can relate to the made-up character because of the issues they have regarding the bodies. I mean, it’s 2024, or by the time the review is posted, it will be 2025, it’s body positivity that is the name of the game for this episode... especially if you had gone through that when you’re a teenager or are raising one. So yeah, that’s about it for the main plot as the parade progresses with Tina and Tammy now having to fight over the mic as if Tammy thinks that Tina is stealing the spotlight away from her...

And we check up on Teddy for a bit with the parade float for the Pioneers coming in and for everyone, including the Belchers, to see the finished product in the form of the fish... only for the Belchers to spot Teddy inside the float to manually operate the damn thing because it chose the wrong time to break down. Teddy isn’t going to let it slide, so he has to take desperate measures if it means getting into the group by the time the parade ends.

So now, it’s the end of the episode, and the whole fiasco of “Miss Am I Normal” finally comes to a close once the parade has wrapped up. Tina and Louise, of course, patched things up after Louise had to come clean about the whole thing with her and Linda sending the letters to Tina for her advice column in the paper. Good to know that no one leaves the parade in a sour mood, so there’s a positive on that. Thus, we end the episode with the Belchers making their way back to the restaurant so they can open up... only for Bob to get a phone call from Teddy with some news to end the episode. The good news is that he got in... sort of. Teddy brings up that he’s a “probationary member” of the group, meaning that the group won’t officially let him in until they see enough to say that he’s good to go to give him the full invite. Now the bad... he wants out... shocker, said no one. Mostly because of the initiation phase that feels like something coming out of a Saw movie. The moral of this story, accept your body with positivity and don’t lie that could cause a frenzy because it could come back to bite you in the ass.

Reaction/Thoughts:

So all and all, what do I think about this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers? It’s the end of 2024 and it’s... the episode to close out the year. It’s an average episode to sum it all up. Not that bad but it’s not that great from what it was teased back in August with the animatic that was shown from the D23 Expo panel. Mostly because when seeing the animatic that I knew what the episode was going to be about.

Gotta list at least some good parts aside from the negatives that downplayed the episode. Peter Pescadero not catching a break and ends up catching strays over him slurping his bowl of soup was something. Like come on, he didn’t do anything just to hoe him like that. Zeke being touched by the response when reading the paper on his phone was interesting. And I guess give Teddy something for what is doing when trying to push himself just by creating a float. A hassle for sure but hey, gotta think of something from this episode to list out the positives.

Because the episode was average but feels like a forgettable episode to close out the year. Probably the weakest of the season so far for the show. It was predictable that sooner rather than later Louise would be the one to come clean to be the mysterious student who took the school by storm, especially after Frond announced her fake persona to be tapped as the ambassador for the parade before Tammy took it after suffering a loss. This feels like what we saw in “Tina and The Real Ghost” with the whole thing regarding the whole who did what with Tina, Louise, and Tammy being the ones under the spotlight. And the subplot... well, it’s not that great but you have to at least give Tina some credit for what is doing to please the group he wants to join. Other than that, a middle-of-the-road episode but the weakest way to close out 2024 and go into 2025. So I’ll give “Advice Things Are Ad-Nice”...

A 5 out of 10. But that’s my opinion and I wanna hear yours in the comments below. And with that, so ends 2024 by the time I post the review, it will already be 2025 in half of the world, maybe three-fourths at least, and oh man, 2024... it’s a year. A wild year filled with bullshit. Especially in the second half of the year when entering the current season we’re in. The laptop needed a new battery, now on the verge of getting replaced because it might be time, to move to a new place, having to go through a fractured arm that took nearly 8 weeks to heal, and, of course, the presidential election and the uncertainty of what is about to happen in the next four years. I know that in comparison to the first eight months of the year was busy as usual before things took a spiral turn, but I made it. We made it. This usually be reserved for the end of the year-end countdown, and yes, it’s coming, it’s coming soon now that we’re off for a month, and I wanna thank y’all for at least sticking around when having to stumble across this page when checking out my half-assed reviews of Bob’s Burgers and now having to do The Great North as well, it’s insane that I’m back into doing two shows in a long while but hey, gotta at least voice my opinion and talk about what I watch. Don’t know what 2025 has in store... hopefully, the new administration is going to be the same as the first one just without the dictator-style bullshit, but buckle up, it’s gonna be a ride, and let’s see what the year has in store.

Follow me on Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, Mastodon, BlueSky, and Threads for updates and behind-the-scenes stuff. And y’all should know the drill by now as we enter the new year...

And until the next time, stay safe, get vaccinated, and a reminder that you’re loved, you’re beautiful, ignore the haters, and I’ll see y’all later for the 2024 year-end countdown... yes, in January. So might as well consider that my own project... 2025.
