So, this was an eventful June 5 in the year of our lord 2025. Aside from the usual Animation Domination block that we got, where, unless you’re in the New York City area, where y’all had to play the waiting game until before midnight because of a WNBA game, spoiler alert, here we go on June 19, that was pretty eventful across the country. Mostly coming from the expected release of the Switch 2, to yes, the ongoing beef between Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Y’all thought November 5, 2020, or May 3, 2024, was an eventful day that will live in craziness, I think that day just entered the conversation. Whether or not it will lead to negative consequences is up in the air once the review is posted is up in the air, but it does make you question, what the hell is 2025? What even is 2025?
In this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers, Tina, Gene, and Louise team up to do a family-owned cartel ring of their own in selling illegal snacks to the school, but the latest addition of having someone new joining in their ranks could mess things up with the sales and the team as Bob and Linda encounter an issue with the family computer after experiencing an issue with it in my spoilerific review of the thirteenth episode of Season 15 of Bob’s Burgers, titled “Snackface”.
By now, we all know about how the cartel world works. In GTA, Weebly, Blogger, and WordPress, all of this in GTA. I need the money to make a living, but we should be familiar with how the cartel business works. Mostly from what you've seen on the news, YouTube videos, or, I guess, getting the information from watching “Narcos” regarding... well, drugs. In this episode of Bob’s Burgers, it’s the Belcher kids going into a would-be cartel business, only replacing drugs with spicy chips, which is against school rules, as if it were banned for being a nuisance, and I guess having an X amount of different chemicals that show off the coloring and taste. And I can already guess a possible rise of snack cartels, like what we’re about to see in the review of this week’s episode, if the current FDA led by RFK Jr plans on, and expect it to, ban certain snacks, or rather, the ingredients that made the snack addictive like crack. Out here, as if it’s about to become the second coming of the prohibition era. Makes you question how other countries outside the US who have that shit banned fare out when it comes to their shipment of snacks.
But regardless, it’s all about having to make the bank by creating something they’re not supposed to make, which could put them on edge. And a spicy set of chips that they have to make is the way to go, because if there’s one thing people like, especially the youth, it's chips. Candy too, but chips are probably the way to go... but without having to create that shit by using flour that were used for tortillas and deep fry that shit so it becomes crisp. Just make the spice and drench it all over, and that should be enough to have people become addicted to the snack as if... well, crack cocaine. As much as you want to get away from it, and you can when having to go on a diet, whether by choice when having to change lifestyles, or had a near-death experience following a health emergency, you can’t help but to fall for the temptation. Okay, well, there are healthy alternatives when it comes to chips, like organic chips or, if possible, chips for vegans/vegetarians, but the flavor of the chips, that’s something that you can’t step away from. But it’s not about the taste, it’s how things were being sold as part of the Belcher kids’ get-rich-quick scheme in this latest installment of the show. This is “Snackface”.
The episode begins with the Belcher kids in the living room in the evening, with Louise counting the money that she and her siblings have collected from the illegal snack trade that they’re doing. So, they’re already doing the business rather than having to wait a few minutes to make the decision to do the work. And it’s not even a full minute, and already, we have Tina being concerned about what they’re doing that could get them into serious trouble caused by Louise’s actions. Not even a full minute, and already, we have Tina saying to Louise that she is doing and having to drag her, and Gene is bad. Especially when mentioning that the school has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to trading snacks. I mean... what’s wrong with a little snack trade that caused Wagstaff to shut the whole thing down? Aside from the possible allergic reaction that could kill someone because they didn’t read the ingredients that were on the back of the packet, or treating the snack trade like it’s a meetup after buying something from the Facebook marketplace.
Of course, that’s not going to stop Louise from continuing what she is doing since they’re making money from the students who would easily take the snacks for them to eat. That’s pretty much the bank that they’re making with the snacks they’re selling. Especially when Louise continues to tempt Tina to continue to join her in the snack trade because Tina needs a new pencil case. A fancy-looking pencil case that has two sets of drawers, three cubbies for erasers, and a built-in sharpener. And even though Tina wants to earn her money legally, i.e., her babysitting money, to get said case, I’m guessing there are no babysitting duties at the moment for her outside of the house to get the money, so having to partake in the illegal snack selling business, even if she doesn’t want to do it, just had to be forced to do the job, would have to be the way to go. Of course, they have to make the money as fast as they can because, according to Louise, the trend is likely going to die out fast, pretty soon, because she saw Ms. LaBonz eating the snack, and that’s pretty much be GGs for the snack in question and they would have to create a new one, despite putting them in hot water because a teacher ate it that got the adults’ attention, especially Frond himself. This, of course, is where the kids get an idea from Gene in having to create a new snack for them to make for the next shipment to trade to the students at school. But for that to happen, they need the ingredients to make the stuff.
That’s where we transition to the kitchen with Bob and Linda having to do their taxes on the computer with hoards of bills they have that need to be filed. Gene comes in to ask Bob if he has something that he needs for him, Tina, and Louise need to make a spicy set of chips using a combination of peppers that should give it a kick, of course, while not letting Bob and Linda know because they don’t want them to butt in and could get them into trouble. The ingredient in question that Gene needs is called the Hachiya persimmon, an Asian pepper where they have to be ripe and soft for consumption or be used for spice making, and I guess Bob was planning on using it for the burger of the day, but it hasn’t become ripe to be considered edible, but that’s not going to stop Gene from having to take the pepper, with Bob’s permission, for use to create the flavor for the chips that he, Tina, and Louise will be making. So, Gene leaves to pick the peppers from... somewhere across the building, probably the restaurant, since there’s no yard to plant the fruit, and yes, peppers are considered fruits because they have seeds, and stuff that has seeds in it is considered fruits. So, once Gene had to get the pepper for him and his sisters to use for the flavor...
It looks like things are not looking good for Bob and Linda with the family laptop quickly heating up once Bob tries to save the spreadsheet that has everything recorded when doing their taxes. Quickly heating when making that sound that can scare the crap out of people because that signal something is wrong with the component of the device, especially the hard drive, mostly due to high CPU or taking up too much RAM, and I say that because we’re all victims to it, including myself, whenever the computer gets into deep shit. And the hard drive is the one thing that can murder the device, and unless you want to play the longest waiting game in your life, you might as well pack it in. Bob and Linda are in panic over the family laptop overheating, hence, the smoke coming out of the ducts, with Linda thinking it’s a good idea to put the laptop to the freezer so that it can cool the device down... as if the family never had a cooling pad to help cool the laptop if it were to overheat. Probably should’ve gotten that when getting in the first place, or wish they had a desktop, if they have the room, of course, and probably running on that Windows XP.
But the putting the computer into the freezer option didn’t work because, while yes, the computer did cool down after experiencing some overheating, especially after Bob was saving the spreadsheet when doing taxes, it did not save the computer after doing that little trick. It all boils down to the hard drive itself being corrupted, which has now caused the laptop to break down, and now, it looks like the Belchers might be thinking about getting a new one. The only problem that Bob and Linda should be worried about with the family laptop now dead is the fear of losing family memories that were stored in the device, once Teddy asks if they have their files backed up. And lo and behold, they did not. They did not back up their files because they were too busy filing taxes, and they didn’t even think that they would even think about storing their files on a flash drive or cloud storage. Thinking that things would be a breeze with no problems whatsoever. Don’t know why they didn’t just open the task manager and check how much RAM they’re using, but whatever, what’s done is done. And this causes Teddy to advise Bob and Linda to go to a computer repair shop that he knows to get the laptop patched up and it looks like that’s what Bob and Linda will be planning on doing if they want to get this shit handled so they can save the memories and do their taxes. And who knows, you might get a refund so you can go and buy a new one. Just saying.
We go check up on the Belcher kids once again where the creation of the spicy chips is underway with Gene putting in the finishing touches by blending the pepper, along with lemon juice, hot sauce, and cane sugar, to give it the kick they need to coat the chips that are on the tray. Either they had to heat the chips using tortillas, or they probably used a couple of Tostitos to serve as the chips for the kids to coat the blended spice onto said chips. Gene coats the chips, and he, along with Tina and Louise, decides to give it a taste test of their own, and lo and behold, once the kick of the spice kicks in after taking one bite, it looks like the Belcher kids are in business once more as they find their next moneymaker once the next day arrive at school.
The next day arrives with the Belcher kids at school during recess time with Gene and Louise, and later Tina, trying ot play hooky by having to be on a lookout so that a teacher who is overseeing the kids in their recess time doesn’t spot them in the snack trade. Especially when Andy and Ollie are the bag handlers by the slide, ready to hand over the bag to a random student who pops up as part of the trade. Tina comes in and pretty much blocks Louise's view of the trade taking place by the slide, just to see the turnout. With the number of people turning out to get the snack, the kids will be banking more money. Louise tries to see the show with her eyes when trying to get through Tina, who is standing in the way, as if she’s still skeptical about doing the whole thing...
Only to be stopped by Millie who appears out of fucking nowhere aside from spotting the Belcher siblings on what they’re doing. And already, she knew that it was the Belcher kids who were behind the illegal snack trade since it was Louise’s idea. And since this is Louise’s idea, with her (Louise) leading the charge in all of this in a get-rich-quick scheme, it’s no surprise that Millie wants to get involved by wanting to be a part of their so-called “enterprise”. Mostly because she wants to get into the business, but knowing Millie, she’s only doing just to be close to Louise. And Louise, of course, rejects Millie’s offer to join the team, right as the bell rings for everyone to go back inside. Pretty much ruining her viewing of the crime in action from the slide that Andy and Ollie are being told by Louise before having her viewing blocked by Tina and Millie.
But that doesn’t ruin things completely for Louise to wrap up the first act of the episode because the day is not a total loss. We’re just getting started with the business in hand once Louise, Tina, and Gene arrive at the lockers, Louise’s locker that is, I’m guessing, even though, if I can remember correctly, she has two lockers in the school. Her usual assigned locker and the “Rudy-ville” locker by Rudy’s, but aside from whatever locker the Belcher siblings arrive at, whether it’s one of the two lockers owned by Louise or some random locker that was left empty, it looks like the day isn’t a total loss because what’s inside the bag once the siblings take a peek to close out the first act of the episode, oh yeah, they collected some green that they got from the trade. Swimming in cash from each of the students in Wagstaff, and that alone changes Tina’s mind, which is now causing her to jump into the bandwagon.
Now, going into the second act of the episode with Louise counting the money that she and her siblings collected from the chips they made to give them the big bucks while Gene is doing some math work when it comes to the recipe since it looks like he’ll be working on the double to create a fresh batch. Tina comes in to turn over her money into the bank, since the goal is pretty much them getting their hands on the pencil case, while, of course, having to remind Louise to continue to lay low because with all the money that they earned is starting to get over her head and that should keep it that way as the episode progresses. As long as they keep going with the hot chip and not listen to Gene on other ideas with the sauce he made on other things that are not the chips they’re using, which is currently making them money.
We transition to the computer repair shop that Teddy recommend Bob to take the laptop to inspect the issue that caused the computer to go on the fritz. No surprise, it’s the hard drive that is the cause of the thing going haywire after trying to save the spreadsheet when Bob and Linda were doing their taxes. And we know what it’s like to have to deal with issues regarding the laptop, mainly coming from dealing with a virus or the battery, or drinks that were spilled or dropped by accident because of having butterfingers for hands, a corrupted hard drive is the ultimate pain in the ass. I had two previous laptops that were both dead because of the hard drive, and I’ve been trying to be on the lookout with the current one I’m using, though I am due to get a new one because it was either this or install more memory from the 8 GB that I have currently. It’s just the stupid tariffs are pinning me down like a motherfucker. So yeah, the hard drive is pretty much dead, and that’s not good for Bob because he was currently doing his taxes along with Linda and needs to pay off the IRS. Once again, should’ve at least have this backed up. Or at least do it on... I don’t know? Google Sheets? Excel on OneDrive? Probably done that because it saves automatically. That is, if y’all can afford a cloud subscription. Though Google is pretty much free, though there are tiers, so uh... take it what you get. Shameless plug.
Anyway, the hard drive on the Belcher family laptop is pretty much cooked as a result of it being corrupted, which is bad for Bob because he and Linda need to get their taxes done. But now, it’s bad for the whole family because all of the family memories are stored in that exact hard drive. And because Bob and Linda didn’t even bother trying to back up their files, they probably should’ve gone for the cheaper option and bought a flash drive, probably from a pharmacy. And because of that, it might be GGs for the family photos and memories. All this because the family computer had to go on the fritz. Almost feels like we got from Central Park in Season 3’s “A Triptych Down Memory Lane”, but that one has the character of Elwood keeping on putting in the wrong password one too many times and if he were to put the final wrong password, all the things that are stored in the hard drive, including the family memories, is GGs. It would be GGs. So, it looks Bob may have no other choice but to pay the $150, $100 for the replacement, and $50 for the diagnostic, if it means to save the files that are stored in the now dead hard drive. That includes the family memories that were stored inside there. Once again, for a cheap option, should’ve buy a flash drive to store those memories and secure that shit so you don’t lose it. Or maybe pay for a fucking cloud?!
Back to school we go on day two of the Belcher siblings mining for cash with the chips that they made to trade with the other students. And no surprise, business is booming for the Belcher kids with them planting the bag in the locker for them to collect the cash at the end of the school day, and having Andy and Ollie be the handlers at the playground slide, and seeing the results of each party eating the chips during the montage, the Belcher siblings might as well struck gold with the spicy flavored chips that Gene made as the montage progresses and it shows just the week because it’s not one-time thing where it happened one day and then stop picking it up after and go for the next best thing possible. It’s boosting sales and what do you expect, the students would eat this shit up whether in the library or the bathroom, it’s making the siblings a lot of money...
As seen in the next scene, as part of the montage, with the Belcher kids swimming in cash as if summer came early for them. Once again, they struck gold with the chips, and everyone in the school seems to like it without even noticing that it was them who made the snack, and yes, not being spotted by the teachers. And it won’t be long until the Belcher siblings get their hands on the fancy pencil case that Tina or the siblings laid their eyes on. Though you think that with having Andy and Ollie involved in this, you’d think that they should at least get their fair share of the piece of the money, since Louise did have them be the handlers in this operation. But the only reward that Andy and Ollie will get from this would... well, some screentime. But of course, the kids’ little ride on top of the sales market of being a part of the illegal snack trade might be coming to a screeching halt. A trouble in paradise is about to take place.
Especially once the next day arrives, with Andy and Ollie giving the Belcher siblings the bad news after riding the high of selling the chips that they made. And when it comes to stuff like selling snacks, treating it like a business since they’re making money out of this, of course, there’s going to be some competition. Especially when seeing a couple of kids eating a bag of chips that is similar to theirs. Treating it as if someone spied on them to steal the recipe, like it’s... y’all remember the Cheetos commercials from I guess around 2006 that aired on Cartoon Network that promoted Baked Cheetos where Chester Cheetah participated and won against a French chef in a cooking competition that led to him stealing the recipe just for being a sore loser. But yeah, it looks like the Belcher kids got some competition.
And that alone got Mr. Frond’s attention, now that he notices what is going on with the chips. And if he finds out who sold the students the chips, mainly the Belcher siblings, for being responsible for the distribution, especially Louise, since it was her idea, it’s going to be GGs for them. I mean, it would just be detention, but the kind of detention where they would have to serve for the rest of the school year. Which is something that the Belcher kids don’t want to deal with now that they got some “competition” on school grounds that has now caught the attention of Mr. Frond. Treating it as if they want the damn thing to be caught.
Millie once again enters the conversation by sneaking up where the Belcher kids and Pesto twins are after Frond made the announcement. Once again, invading Louise’s personal space. With her jumping in and telling them that she may have found the “suspect” behind it all. Note, when I put in the quotation marks over the word, once Millie made the announcement and you’ll find out in a second. Leading us to the next scene before we close out the first half of the episode with Millie taking the siblings to the boiler room to see the “suspect” in question, who would dare to challenge the Belcher kids and their would-be empire of snack trading.
Revealed to be one Peter Pesacdero, who is behind all of this. Or so we thought when we found out later in the episode, or at the end of the first half of the episode. But Millie suspects that Peter did the job and ends up blabbing why he did it to avoid being tickled tortured, or says that he’ll stop doing it without any clear explanation for why he did it, which sounds very fishy if you think about it, if y’all already know who is actually the mastermind behind all of this. Maybe a certain someone who got in Louise’s business after being denied being a part of the team earlier in the episode, while riding high on the wave. It’s Millie. Y’all already guessed that it’s Millie because it’s not a freaking surprise to most of you guys when watching this. So, Millie frames Peter of selling the counterfeit snacks as if he’s already declaring competition against the Belcher siblings and this alone, after getting Peter to stop what he was doing, Millie gets what she wants and ends up joining the team per Louise’s decision because as much as she doesn’t want to do it because it’s Millie and they were doing just fine as it is, they need a strong arm. Each gang has a strong arm so that something like this doesn’t happen again. And Millie seems to be the right candidate to do the job. And thus, Millie is now added to the party. And if you think that this should be it for the first act of the episode? Nope. Because when we transition to the park after school...
Wouldn’t you guess it? Millie was the mastermind behind the counterfeit snack sale, once meeting up and paying Peter Pescadero to take the fall. All of this is because Millie wants to be in the group so that she can get close to Louise. I mean, it’s not even a surprise at all. We all knew, kind of knew, that Millie would do something like this just to appease to Louise so that she could get close to her. Still going for the goal of wanting to be Louise’s “bestie” and make sure no one takes that title, even though she (Louise) has Rudy, Andy and Ollie, Jessica, Kaylee, and Megan, just to name a few. And there’s also her siblings, Tina and Gene, but knowing Millie as a character, she wants Louise all to herself. That includes family members. And having to play the strong arm when framing Peter Pescadero after she commits on attempting to rival the Belcher kids’ little enterprise, questioning how the fuck she even got a hold of the recipe that Gene made other than she might’ve bugged the place or snuck into the house while everyone is asleep, was her ticket to get into the conversation.
Yeah, remember in Seasons 8 and 12 where we questioned the crew’s somewhat decision to do a little experiment in trying to “humanize” Millie to the point where Louise has to slowly warm up to her as if we’re seeing another side of her or something? Yeah, where are y’all at? Where are y’all at? I’m just putting it out there because while like we’re feeling a bit of a reversal we’re doing with Millie since Season 12, we’re talking about the same girl who copies everything Louise has and likes without any clear explanation how she even knows what her room would look like, minus the window and the extra space and I guess more extra space now that she saw the loft bed. She is a character who is longed to be studied when it comes to her character as a whole, like it’s the making of a true crime documentary.
We enter the second half of the episode, going into the next day, with Millie now a part of the team after what happened. Not knowing what is really going on regarding Millie and her actions that led to her getting her ticket to join Louise and the others. So yeah, going forward, Millie is named as security for the group after that little encounter yesterday regarding Peter’s so-called involvement in having to sell the counterfeit snacks, and hoping for something like that doesn’t happen again. Especially since Louise plans on expanding the market outside of the school grounds of Wagstaff, much to Tina’s dismay, because she wants to keep things safe and secure so that it doesn’t draw any attention. Especially since now that Frond might be on their asses over what is going on. And knowing Louise since she and the others, but especially her, are riding through the wave, with Millie getting a little too close to Louise’s personal space, with her having to do a rough back and should rub before all four make their way back to the school with recess coming to a close for the day. Not knowing that red flags that were waving in the background regarding Millie now that she’s a part of the team.
We go to the next scene, back at the restaurant, and it might not be looking good for Bob and Linda when it comes to the laptop situation. Especially once they get the phone call from store owner Discount Dave, voiced by Sam Richardson, about the hard drive issue, and, of course, that hard drive is long gone. It is long gone, and it might be deemed impossible to get it restored. So, not looking good for the Belchers because with that gone, meaning that they have lost the spreadsheet that has their numbers put for tax purposes, and also the memories that are stored. However, this is a silver lining in this after running a diagnostic, but that may come with an ultimatum that Bob and Linda have to face. And that is that Dave plans on transferring files from the old hard drive into the new one, but only a few, if not, only one files can jump to the new one, meaning the rest will be gone forever. And you can already guess what the options are when it comes to the files when having to make a choice when doing a dangerous procedure of transferring the files from the old hard drive that has seen better days to a new one that is set to be installed in the laptop.
Transitioning back to the Belcher siblings and Millie at the lunch table, with once again, another meeting regarding the snack trade. And according to Millie, it looks like they’re about to hit the motherload in their little enterprise of illegal snack trading. Because she tells Louise, Tina, and Gene that someone in Wagstaff, an eighth grader, wants to buy a shipment, not a single baggie with only a set of chips inside, the whole shipment and a single eighth grader wants to get their hands on it because they have an older sibling in high school who wants to take the shipment and sell there. So, pretty much an expansion by result of that eighth grader if things go through. So, who is that eighth grader who wants to by a shit ton of the spicy chips that Millie is talking about to the Belchers at the lunch table?
It’s Chelsea. Chelsea wants to buy a shit ton of chips from Louise and the others after seeing what they’re doing across the school. Yeah, that pretty much checks out. So, according to Millie, Chelsea wants to buy a shit ton of the spicy chips that the Belchers made. Not for her all to herself to keep, but because she has an older sister, older sisters to be exact, who is even more scarier than her, makes you question what the fuck is going on with Chelsea’s family to have Chelsea and her pair of sisters to be on their potential King Von timing, but beside that, that’s what Chelsea wants as a commission for the Belchers and Millie to do. And like a usual trade, whether it’s a normal trade or a sting operation, she wants to see the goods before handing over the money. She pretty much rolls that way for her once the deal is about to be made.
Oh yeah, and Tina and Gene are fired. And the same goes for Andy and Ollie. Shades of Trump and Elon before the ongoing beef between the two, with Louise and Millie, with Millie calling in the shots to reorganize everything that could hold serious consequences. In short, they got DOGE’d. They got DOGE’d by Millie Musk here and Louise, even though she should challenge the idea because she's gotta needs the help, mostly to get the shipment made and would have to work all night to get the chips ready, a hundred bags to be exact, she has to follow along to what Millie says and decides to fire her siblings, along with the Pesto Twins. And for good reason, for making the move from Tina wanting to play it safe to Gene struggling to focus when it comes to making the sauce, to have the enterprise continue to thrive, there are going to be some sacrifices that come with it. And letting Tina and Gene, along with Andy and Ollie, get the pink slip would have to be the way to go.
Leading us to the next montage of the episode, to bypass the third act of the episode, after the decision was made for the team to go their separate ways. Tina and Gene look gloomy after getting the notice that they’re being let go, courtesy of Millie and Louise not even bother to challenge her idea. I mean, I’m guessing Louise did it in private to tell Louise that it would be a bad idea to let Tina, Gene, Andy, and Ollie go because things were going fine with just them ahead of the shipment orders, like with the previous trade meet-ups before having Millie involved. But, of course, Louise wants to expand the business despite Tina telling her not to do it because it can get her and the others caught for distributing, so she has no choice but to make the decision and follow Millie’s idea. Of course, not knowing what is really going on, but we’ll get to that later. We get through the montage with Louise continuing to make the chips on her own, with Tina and Gene in their separate rooms, looking glum, with Tina now getting what she was looking for, the special pencil case, and Gene eating his bowl of chips with the dip he made. Not the one he made that Louise is currently using, but the one before at the start of the episode.
Which leads us to the next day at school, at lunchtime, with Tina and Gene having to eat their lunch, of course, without Louise with them this time around. Gene comes across Peter Pescadero and has to apologize to him for what happened a few days ago, for threatening to torture him by having to be tickled for having to compete with the Belchers. And that’s where the truth bomb decides to drop from Peter for Tina and Gene to know, since we’re nearing the end of the third act of the episode with Peter telling Gene to whisper in his ear before going into the next scene with him and Tina running out of the cafeteria upon finding out what is going on from Peter and need to find Louise to warn her about Millie and her actions. Becoming alert over hearing what Millie’s true intentions are. And speaking of Millie...
She stopped Tina and Gene on their way to the playground where Louise is for her to wait for Chelsea to pick up the shipment, and decides to take Tina and Gene to the playground where Louise should be. Only for Millie to end up taking the two to the wrong location at the boiler room underneath the school, and y’all already know where this is going...
Yep, Tina and Gene get locked up by Millie so that the two don’t reach Louise and ruin what she has planned to end the third act of the episode, and going to the fourth and final act of the episode. Y’all know Millie for quite a while since her debut, I’m surprised that y’all haven’t read the writing in the room about her since having to annoy the crap out of Louise just so she wants to join their enterprise and wanting to get close to her. Of course, she probably picked it up that they knew the truth from Peter at the cafeteria as if she was expecting them to hear the truth from Peter’s big mouth, surprising that Millie didn’t even bother dragging Peter and lock him up as a result, but she was probably done using him as a pawn anyway. Other than that, Tina and Gene are locked inside the boiler room, and if you slow the scene frame by frame with Tina latching onto Millie’s backpack in her attempt to slow her down, you could see that Millie left her backpack with Tina and Gene, and we’ll get to that in a little bit.
We check up with Bob and Linda at the computer repair shop, where the hour of truth has arrived for the files to be transferred, and they have to get ready to make a difficult decision on which of the two files, one file labeled as “stuff” and the other labeled as “things”, as the hard drive transfer is about to take place. And if y’all don’t know which is which... well, to save y’all the trouble, things have the memories stored inside and stuff has the spreadsheet. There, I saved y’all the trouble.
We go back to Tina and Gene, who are currently trapped inside the boiler room and asking for help after having to be locked up by Millie with no way out of the room, pretty much trapped, and with no escape plan whatsoever for them to rush towards Louise. And remember when I mentioned that Tina latched onto Millie’s backpack to slow her down, which led to her leaving it with Tina and Gene? Well, it looks like we find out what Millie’s true plan is when wanting to join Louise in selling the illegal snacks. She has this shit drawn up in giant sheets of paper of her and Louise being buddy-buddy while serving detention. And that should have the siblings put two and two together that this was Millie’s intention for this episode, and it points back to what Mr. Frond said earlier in the episode that if the person who sell the snacks, that being Louise, get caught doing the sale, they would have to serve detention for the rest of the school year. And her wanting to join the team, along with bribing Peter to take the fall, and potentially bribing Chelsea to give a nod towards them, thinking that she wants to make a sale, but instead, it’s her and Louise becoming bait for Frond to catch them in the act so it can be just them serving detention for the rest of the school year. Speaking like a true yandere right there, that Millie. Tina and Gene continue to yell to get them out of the boiler room, and luckily enough, they got Mr. Branca’s attention and opened the hatch for them and stormed out to the playground to warn Louise about Millie’s plan before Mr. Frond spots them.
Going back to the computer repair shop and it’s a now or never moment for the Belchers as they have to see which file will be transferred into the new hard drive and which one will be gone with the fishes. It’s a dangerous procedure for Discount Dave to do because it’s a short amount of time to transfer at least a single file to the new one, with the old one, the corrupted hard drive, goes up in smoke, and the files that come with it. The transfer takes place Dave preparing to move the file that reads “Stuff” into the new hard drive, but Bob has to come in and stops Dave from transferring the file that has the spreadsheet, according to Linda, labeled “Stuff” has the bookings and spreadsheet, and the file that labeled “Things” has the photos and videos. And per Bob’s suggestion, per Linda’s suggestion, Dave moves the file that has the photos and videos of the family into the new hard drive that will be installed into the laptop, and it’s in once the process is done, the old hard drive... well, you already guess. Gone. And with it, the spreadsheet that has the numbers filled with it.
We got ourselves a standoff once Tina and Gene made it to the slide where the trade was supposed to be happening between Louise, Millie, and Chelsea, only to turn out to be one big ruse by Millie once the two tell Louise to back out while she still can. Telling her that there was no sale between them and Chelsea because Millie bribed Peter to take the fall, and probably bribed Chelsea to think that she wants to get her hands on the chips. All this so that Frond can catch the two girls in the act so they can serve detention for the rest of the school year. And rather than making her escape after hearing what she is hearing from Tina after she and Gene heard the truth from Peter in the cafeteria, in a shocking turn of events, Louise decides to ride this one out. Yeah, she decides to ride this shit out and go along with Millie’s plan as if she got brainwashed or the real Louise isn’t there and instead, it’s a clone, okay, that one sounds too farfetched, but Louise wanting to get herself caught seems out of character for her.
Especially going into the two-minute warning of the episode with Mr. Frond spotted the four at the slide and knew right away that the snack trade was Louise’s idea. And asks the two girls, that being Louise and Millie, to go down the slide for him to inspect the bag for the chips in the baggie. Pretty much giving Millie what she wanted as they go down the slide, and for Louise to hand the bag over to Frond. He inspects the bag to pull out the bag of chips so that Millie can go and celebrate her year-long bestie making session that is about to happen in the detention room...
Only to pull out a couple of papers coming out of the bag. No bag of chips here because it turns out, once Frond leaves the scene, that the bag that Louise gave him just moments ago belonged to Millie, thanks in part to Tina latching onto her when trying to slow her down before locking her and Gene in the boiler room. Louise switched bags since both she and Millie have the same bag, seriously, you might as well get the girl to see a therapist, to trick Millie AND Mr. Frond as if she knew what Millie was doing the moment she knew about what she, Tina, and Gene were doing throughout the week.
As if Tina and Gene knew right away from Louise what Millie was planning with this supposed meet-up that turned them into bait for Frond to catch them in the act. And it was something to show the switching of the bags, with Gene having to switch bags with Louise from the top of the slide, while Tina kept Millie busy so that she wouldn’t know the switch was about to happen. So, it’s pretty much a victimless crime for Louise to trick Millie and Frond at the last minute, like her name is Tyrese Haliburton. So, yeah, Millie’s plan to get her and Louise caught so she can spend the rest of the school year in detention alone failed, and thus, this little charade of selling illegal snacks should come to an end once Louise, Tina, and Gene leave Millie behind by the slide. And the moral of the story: Don’t let an incompetent, crazy person make the decisions when running an enterprise because shit like this will have serious consequences.
Reaction/Thoughts:
So, all and all, what do I think about this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers? This was an alright episode if I have to be honest. Mainly coming from the main plot, with the kids having to pull a heist while doing an illegal snack trade. Them playing with fire if it means making a lot of money for a pencil case before having Millie to butt in, just to get close to Louise. It’s not a bad episode, but it’s average at best with an alright main plot and a subplot that feels like complete filler.
Not a lot of cast of characters we got on this week’s episode, but it was an interesting episode where the Belcher kids have to create a little cartel group of their own without having to be seen. I’m guessing it’s them showing what the world of underground trading and the black market would work to the masses, in GTA, mind you, in GTA, just replace drugs with sugary and spicy snacks that sooner or later, it’s gonna happen here in the states in the event Red 40 gets banned that gave the food its flavor and coloring. But it was an alright main plot to the episode. Predictable to say the least, who would be responsible for threatening to compete with the Belcher kids in the snack trading game. And for what Millie’s intentions are when wanting to join the team while they’re riding high in the business after the chip became a success.
The subplot was feeling like filler for sure, with Bob and Linda having to deal with the family laptop having to go on the fritz because of a corrupted hard drive. I mean, it’s trying to be like that one Central Park episode from years ago, with the plot of having to worry about the family memories that were stored in the hard drive being in danger of getting scrubbed into oblivion. It would’ve at least touched it up a notch if they had at least shown a flashback or two of any of the family’s memories that were stored in the hard drive when being concerned over the fact that they could lose the files before having to transfer the files into the new hard drive. So, aside from all of that, this was an alright episode. Average at best but predictable when it comes to the outcome, and a subplot that felt like filler for sure, that I think shouldn’t be there, but quite the missed opportunity to not have at least a flashback or two from any of the family’s memories that were stored in the computer. So, I’ll give “Snackface”...
A 6 out of 10. But that’s my opinion, and I want to hear yours in the comments below. The review for the recent episode of The Great North is coming later this week with “Reservoir Dad Adventure”, and hopefully to get it out before the new episode airs on Thursday. And speaking of Thursday, we got a brand new episode of Bob’s Burgers and we might be taking somewhat of a creepy route where a camping trip for the Thundergirls have Tina, along with two of the members of the rival troop, Troop 257, Rena and Patty, coming across a random house that may or may not be hosting a cult in the fourteenth episode of Season 15 of Bob’s Burgers in “The Place Beyond the Pinecones”.
