So, Trump’s been president for 10 months now, the Jacksonville Jaguars are doing well, and now, Louise and Millie became friends. I feel like we’re living in an alternate timeline right now? Anyway, in this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers, after Mr. Frond’s office gets vandalized with his therapy dolls destroyed, Louise teams up with Millie in a what looked like a very unusual team to crack the case. All while Teddy enters the motivational poster business, with one of the posters, got Bob right into the mind in my spoilerific review of the Second Episode of the Eighth Season, titled, “The Silence of the Louise.”
This was an okay, if not, fine episode. I got to admit, before the episode aired. When the plot synopsis was released, I already thought who the culprit really is, of course, referring to Millie Frock. Mostly because for her to get close to Louise, because knowing Millie, despite that she’s only 10 years old, she is a…don’t want to say “psychopath.” Try…how do you say…a fanatic. I don’t know. All I know is that Millie is obsessed with Louise. Obsessed and made her goal of becoming Louise’s best friend ever since her debut in Season 4’s “Fort Night.” And she’s never gonna stop till she achieves that goal. And that got Louise terrified. Louise always rejects Millie’s offer, hoping for Millie to go away so she can enjoy her day. But Millie…Millie…it’s like a rash that you’re having trouble to get rid of. You tried every other ointment from the store’s shelves, asked by your doctor, and it didn’t work. Or in this case, it’s like, anyone saw Saturday Night Live recently? Where they did a parody of the movie “It”, the remake version where they made Kellyanne Conway as Pennywise. Trying to get Anderson Cooper to put her on CNN. Oh god, would you imagine Millie as Pennywise and hiding in the sewers on a rainy day? *Shudders* I know right. Anyway, we know Millie’s character since her debut but in this week’s episode, it’s like the writers is trying to say, “You know, the fans think that Millie is a total nutcase. And is obsessed with Louise, but maybe we can…I don’t know? Normalize her. Just for this episode.” It almost feels like they’re closing the books on Millie. But something tells me this won’t be the last time we’ll see her. Anyway, let’s get to the episode.
Mr. Frond’s office gets vandalized by a mysterious person. Just as the kids are about to overjoyed that they’re about to head to the waterpark after the whole read 500 books thing. Remember when the teachers at school tried to award the students something for doing something. Mostly on state tests. Or like when a teacher promises a pizza party if people get a perfect score for a test that you had to study for? Yeah, go to Nostalgia Land as we continue with the review. So anyway, Louise wants to know who is responsible on the damage. In which, Mr. Frond thinks that it’s Louise. Cause why not. But actually, it was NOT Louise because they were no way she would do that. But then of course, the blame has shifted to Millie, according to Louise. But according to Mr. Frond, Millie is absent from school due to I guess putting on braces from the orthodontist. Oh yeah, and let’s not forget that the trip’s cancelled until the culprit is found. So, I guess it’s up to Louise to find the culprit who is responsible for the vandalization of Mr. Frond’s office. Only, this is where things become complicated. Complicated and unusual for Louise because when all bets are off, she had to turn to the one person that she wishes she don’t want to be paired up with. That is of course, paying a visit to Millie. Now, when you first saw the clip for this episode before it aired, you were probably a little freaked out about Millie’s room. Well, the next scene that included Millie’s room may have took the cake when the Belcher children visit Millie’s home where they meet Millie’s mom and her mom mentions that her daughter has talked about Louise a lot. And I mean, a lot. I mean, it can’t be wors…
Yeeeeaaaaahhhhh…nothing creepy going on here. It just your typical Mid-Atlantic town when you have a daughter who has an obsession about everyone’s favorite bunny hatted child by posting drawings on the wall and fridge. Not to mention, photos of her. You tell them that life is pretty much normal over at the Frock residence. You think it’s just a normal, nice, clean house out in the open. Well, try adding pictures and pictures and pictures of someone you know being overly obsessed with someone who doesn’t even fucking know you. Almost reminded me of John Hinckley. You know, the guy who obsessed with Actress Jodie Foster and had to shoot Ronald Reagan in 1981 to get her attention. He’s out not to long ago. Not from prison, but from a mental ward. Which mental ward, I feel like that should be Millie’s place to be. Again, I’m not calling her a psychopath. Though, would I call her a psychopath when she tried to murder Abby by choking her by her braid. Actually, no, that would make her a yandere.
Yeah, in more of a “I want to be your best friend” type of yandere, not your typical “fall in love, eliminate the competition to be the last one standing” type. Anyway, Millie’s mom let the Belcher kids enter the house and towards Millie’s room and…
Wow, looks oddly like Louise’s. Wow Millie, how do you even know what Louise’s room is looked like? I mean, it’s not like you broke into the Belcher household while they’re not around or something? Wait…yeah, I think the Belchers should get a security system. I’m surprise that Millie doesn’t have a shrine to Louise hidden in her room. Because that would totally make me want to scream. Anyway, Louise asked Millie to team up with to catch the culprit along with giving her the photos of the therapy dolls destroyed to shreds. In which, after looking at the photos, Millie jumps in to investigate the crime. But in typical Millie Frock fashion, she’ll jump in if Louise plays with her. Consider this a playdate. Which of course, Louise can’t reject the offer unlike the last time she rejected Millie’s offer when she, Tina, Gene, Andy, Ollie, and Darryl are trapped in a fort on Halloween Night and Louise, with her big mouth, decided to tell Millie to fuck off. Thus, Millie leaving them alone, trapped at the fort, and miss out the rest of Halloween Night. Not to mention, almost let them to be crushed by a truck. I feel like Louise decided to not let her big mouth ruin the investigation. Not to mention, letting the class trip to the waterpark to stay cancelled. As just as Louise prepares to be stuck with Millie in her room, Tina and Gene headed off to the trampoline in the backyard. Yeah, run along to the trampoline you two while leaving your sister with someone who is completely obsessed with her since god knows when. My guess, early childhood. Anyway…
The partnership comes into effect for Louise and Millie…well, mostly Louise, who looked at the evidence on who done it. But for Millie, she just plays around and want Louise to tag along. Since of course, that was the deal, although I think the deal was supposed to happen till the case is closed. But it looked like Millie wants to play during the investigation. And by that, I mean supervise and to drag Louise away from the investigation for a while. You know, take a one-minute break. Have everything recharged despite that Louise is full charged. And well, Louise…you did agree to do a so-called “play date” with Millie to team up with her to find the culprit, so it looks like you gotta do your part. And she did with the first scene doing what appeared to be a dance…finishing up a dance before resuming the investigation and that’s where the first clue begins to pop up from Millie that someone knows about Mr. Frond’s schedule and Louise just thought up that someone knew where the dolls are. Hmm…seems kinda suspicious here. I’m not calling for an inside job just yet. At least, nowhere near that. So we got our first hint on the culprit and just as we are about to get more information, time to supervise even more with karaoke.
Two rounds to be at least. And you can look at Louise’s face like she’s probably regretting the idea of teaming up with Millie for a brief second. You could probably be thinking what Louise is thinking right now. Like she’s thinking, “How the frick did I get this far? Oh yeah that’s right, that’s my not choice.” And yes, I said two rounds earlier because it looks like in the second round, yep, we’re throwing in KPOP. So, hey, nice to see KPOP being reference in Bob’s Burgers. And not because of the whole ordeal with North Korea recently that might result in a nuclear war. Okay, bad stuff. Bad stuff. If you’re having a panic attack after bringing this up, I’m sorry. That was a mistake to bring that up. Don’t fret everyone, don’t be alarmed, because we got movie coming up in 2020. Let’s hope Trump doesn’t fuck anything up even more. Okay, karaoke time over, time for more clues.
We have another clue popped up on the destruction of the therapy dolls where we found out that not all the dolls were destroyed because there’s only one doll remain that is not destroyed. And you’re probably thinking what Louise would’ve been thinking that they should use the undamaged doll as bait to capture the culprit, but Millie decided to break away for a while again, this time trying to dress up her cat. Man, this is gonna be a long case to cover where your partner is always breaking away from the investigation to play around, even though Louise had to agree to do the terms to get Millie to find who did it. Oh, did I say long? I mean LONG. Because time after time, scene after scene, it’s one thing after the next. From doing investigating work to play around with a game of hide and seek with Millie hiding over the top, a la Felix Fischoeder last episode, to more investigative work by listing the possible suspects, to more play time by doing some Dance, Dance, Revolution. Hey Dance, Dance, Revolution, 2007 called, they want you back and hide within the shadows. And back to the investigation where they now noticed something odd going on with the ripping and the tearing of the therapy dolls. Mostly on the yarn. And she knows where she can get the answer. But before that, Millie interrupts Louise on what’s down in Old Yeller. Which, everyone should know how Old Yeller ended. Even I knew and I didn’t even read it. Thanks, Television. Anyway, Louise decided to take Tina and Gene away from the trampoline and decided to pay a visit to Edith and Harold about what’s going down and that’s where we found out that it was unraveled. As in, it wasn’t torn up or ripped apart, but rather it’s like someone…think of as if you’re posting a blog post and you typed up the final version of the work you done over and paste it but you didn’t even pasted it as plain text because the browser didn’t even have that. And no, I’m not talking about Firefox. So it means that whoever done it did it carefully. Which is odd because whenever you do the crime, you just ripped the ever-living fuck out. I advise you to don’t ever do that. I will NOT be responsible for that. That’ll be on you.
Next day shows the investigation still going on but something odd is going on here because for some reason, Louise is making a collage of her and Millie…let me repeat this, Louise and Millie…coming from Louise’s mouth…things that been going on with the case brought Louise and Millie closer. Holy shit, it’s like we’re now living in an alternate timeline. I mean…Louise, the last person she wants to be around with at a time like this she had to think of is Millie. You know that feeling that you wish this wasn’t the outcome that you or the people had thought of. Yeah, it’s kinda like that. I’m not calling it an earthquake…yet, it just knowing Millie’s character, that’s like if The Joker decided to turn a new leaf and help out Batman protecting Gotham City. I don’t know. I don’t read comics that aren’t manga. Almost feels like last year with the presidential election. 2017 is a weird year, we’re less than…what? 2-3 months remain? Any more of these want me to like drive off a cliff or in this case, a seawall. God, I don’t want to know what’s about to go down for 2018. Back to the review. Louise informed Mr. Frond that things are going well in the investigation and that she and Millie are like possibly one step closer to catch the culprit. But then, all of a sudden…
Zeke comes in to tell Mr. Frond that he was the one who caused the damage in Frond’s office. Which…do y’all even buy that? No, right. But Zeke has to come in and tell Frond that he did it. Reason why is because of course, just like everyone including Louise, want the trip uncancelled. So that’s it. Guess the trip’s back on. But that means Louise had to now split ways with Millie via phone call. And she did, they split ways once Louise told Millie that Zeke’s the “culprit” in this fiasco…
So Zeke isn’t the culprit behind the whole mess because the culprit is still out there. So wow…poor timing coming from Louise to decide to split ways with Millie. And now she had to get the partnership back by going back to her house. In which Millie’s mom told Louise that she doesn’t want to see her. Wow, almost feels like she caused some emotional damage. But don’t worry about it because they did fix things up when Louise come up with an idea to apologize to Millie and trying to get the partnership to continue and it worked. So the case continues for the two as Millie accepts it and let her in.
Now, this is where things get really interesting here, coming from Millie because I think we know how Millie became so obsessive over Louise. And why she wants to be friends with her. And she stated that she’s just a simple person. You know, you could say that you’re alone and wanted a friend to be around with. And we’re back to the topic of Old Yeller when Millie asked Louise what happened in the end. In which, she told her that because of the dog getting rabies, the boy had to shoot him just like the culprit…who…destroyed the…dolls…
Frond did it. He’s the culprit in this whole mess. It was a fucking inside job. And you can thank a book from the 1950s to help you solve the case. Now we know why everyone, including celebrities and athletes, want people, mostly kids and teenagers, to ditch the phones and read a book. Reading is fun! Unless paperback is about to be extinct and headed to digital media. Thanks, Amazon. The wild chase with the kids chasing after Mr. Frond lasted for a short time when Mr. Frond hid himself to the teachers’ lounge. But lucky for the kids, thanks to the Janitor, he let them in and that’s where the interrogation begins…for all three of the faculty: Frond, Ambrose, and LaBonz. And the reason why we ended up here. The whole entire reason on why the dolls are teared up. All of this…is because of a coffee maker. A coffee maker. They spent the money that should be for the school for an expansive coffee with packets and buckets of flavors and cream and shit. And they notice a little flaw going on when they are alarmed that the kids are heading towards the 500 marks in the read 500 books a day thing that was brought up earlier in the episode and they thought that there’s no way that’s gonna happen. Oh, it’s happening, you three. And in order to take the money away from the funds that was saved for the waterpark, they had to come up with a disaster so they can cancel the trip and well, looks like Frond’s office and his therapy dolls are the targets on what soon will be the fiasco where the plot of the episode has described and now solved. In which Louise threaten to tell Principal Spores about the whole thing but then decided to not do it and let them get away with it…for of course, the trip to the waterpark.
So enjoy your trip to the waterpark kids as Tina, of course, go after Jimmy Jr with Gene telling Zeke to stay out of it for a bit, I think the Tina/Jimmy Jr shippers may have found their hero for the episode. And as for Louise and Millie, despite dressed up like the same. Same swimsuit but different hats because Millie’s hat seems more of a swim cap rather than bunny ears, decided to hang out watch people having trouble sliding down the tubes. So…it is official, Millie sort of, got her wish and her and Louise are now friends. It’s really happening here, folks. And I feel like the writers decided to normalize her in this episode and decided to close the book on her but…I don’t buy it. I don’t think this is the last time we’ll see Millie in the series. And I’ll tell more when we reach to the reaction/thoughts section. But as for the A-plot itself, it was good. Odd because of the Louise/Millie interaction without Millie scaring the ever living shit out Louise with her being obsessive. But I think it was fine for those two to finally become friends, second time Louise befriend a female after Jessica. Huh…I wonder how Millie would react to Jessica being her bestie? Now that I think about it…it’s not gonna paint a pretty picture. But yeah, the A-plot was good yet odd with the Louise/Millie interaction that it feels like we’re diving into the Twilight Zone with the plot twist founding out that Mr. Frond is responsible of destroying his own property, all thanks to Old Yeller. The dog doesn’t deserve to die. That’s your problem.
The B-plot was kind of surprising as well because when the plot synopsis was out back in September, it shows that Teddy is creating a business with motivational posters. Which he is in with a partner, not romantically, and thought it’s gonna be a Teddy-centric subplot. Which while it does, it almost feels like it shifted to Bob and that poster that Teddy created and Linda posted it in the kitchen. Twice to be exact. And at first, it feels like Bob is not key to the idea of Teddy entering the poster business. But when the whole lunch rush comes in as Bob grills the onions, his inspiration has exploded through the roof. And Bob has finally got the confident boost he needs for the rest of the day. However, the poster business seems a tad mix matched coming from Teddy and his business partner because for a second there, it feels like they got into an argument after noticing that their posters are not selling well. Two times to be at least. But of course, an apology had to be added there to keep the business together.
With the first being Linda noticing someone is looking at the poster and that got Teddy and his partner excited, thinking that they got their first customer. Only when the lady takes a picture and posted it online. Mostly on either Instagram or Pinterest. I wonder how Pinterest work in the Bob’s Burgers universe? And in the second…
Looks like it’s falling apart again. Man, I don’t know what’s wrong with the poster that didn’t get the people’s attention? I mean yeah…the phrase seems a bit confusing, almost looks like it had taken notes from Shia LaBeouf’s video from 2015 that became a meme. I mean hell…

Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker himself, is quoting the exact same thing the poster said. Speaking of which, not a bad idea if Hamill ends up guest starring in a future episode. I mean, we got Adam Driver coming up later this December. So hey, throw in another Star Wars actor into the mix. Anyway, second time they’re about to split apart but of course, back to togetherness once more when Bob comes in to tell them that their poster helps him boost his self-esteem. And get things done in a matter of seconds. I made have probably made up that last one but I’m pretty sure that happened. So it looks like the business…till the episode ends and it will be never be brought up ever again. The continuity department in the show seems a bit of a lackluster. We need to spice things up. But yeah, to sum up the B-plot of the episode, though it seems it was supposed to be a Teddy-centric subplot, it feels like a Bob subplot in my opinion because it feels like Bob was not in key to this in the beginning. But one afternoon later, his self-esteem has been boosted. It was an okay one. If not, fine. To be honest here. And I think it was nice for Bob’s self-esteem to get the boost that he needs for the rest of the day. I mean hell, everyone should need that on their walls and doors and shit. In their work space. In their homes. In the bathroom when getting up first thing in the morning from bed thinking that life is shit but then you have a poster with that quote posted, yeah. Do that. I know that the world is shit right now, disasters everywhere. War knocking on our doors. Washington ain’t doing shit to do the favors from the American people. But when life gets you down, you look at the poster with that quote for a moment, maybe probably five minutes, and then maybe, maybe, you’ll finally get the motivational boost. And in the words of Shia LaBeouf, which I don’t what happened to him as of now…
Come on America. And come on People of the World, get that poster up on your wall…as soon as you can print it out and think of a way to posted it without damaging it…yeah…but yeah, get motivated. Stare that poster and maybe you can get motivated.
Reaction/Thoughts:
So what do I think about this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers? Well, this was a surprising one. When of course, talking about the Louise and Millie interaction in this episode because this is probably the last thing you would end up seeing when it comes to Louise and her interactions with people, and that person is Millie. Because knowing Millie, ever since her debut in “Fort Night,” we only recognized her as a person who is always obsessing with Louise. Or to sum it up, a wack-a-doo nutcase. And it shows that in “The Millie-churian Candidate,” when Millie was on the verge of being elected school president, that Louise found a flaw in Millie’s proposed buddy system that Abby’s real name is Mabel and that Abby would end up be paired up with Louise and not Millie, thus ending up almost murdering her, showing a yandere personality. Showing that she will not be second fiddle. And will eliminate the competition. Which I…yeah…called for a bad speculation if she were to be brought up and with Jessica, it’s gonna paint a pretty picture. But in this episode, the writers decided that although Millie is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs for Louise to be her bestie, they end up normalizing when Louise decided to pair up with Millie to find the culprit on who did it, which later found out it was Mr. Frond, all thanks to Old Yeller. All although I’m now on the edge of accepting Louise’s now newly founded friendship, you feel like Millie might have got her wish and for the writers to close the book on Millie. But…I don’t buy that. Because knowing the series, they might bring her back to the episode and make her go back to her obsessive ways. And make you feel like this episode is one waste of time for the viewer. It’s like…the same with Logan in the events of “Mother Daughter Laser Razor,” though there’s still some bad blood between the two, the two did improvise an escape plan from the seminar to the laser tag place. Thinking that they could be in good terms, IN A NOT SHIPPING WAY, maybe friends even, I don’t know. But comes Season 5 and they bring him back and made him go back to being an asshole. Why can’t the writers like bring back in a future episode and be more like…Courtney. I mean, at least Courtney matured. And her friendship with Gene is intact. So, there’s that. But yeah, Louise and Millie becoming friends at long last, feels like we’re living in the Twilight Zone for some reason, but it least it was nice to see. I mean, yeah…Louise found another friend who is a female, two in a row…god, I miss Jessica. The A-plot was enjoyable, if not good, mostly because of that, but that plot twist came out of nowhere when Millie kept on mentioning Old Yeller and Louise had to bring up the ending for Millie and connects the dots on who did it. And with that, the kids enjoyed their waterpark trio and for Louise and Millie, their chance to bond. And the B-plot does not disappoint. Even though this subplot feels more a Bob subplot rather than a Teddy subplot when it comes to the posters. But at least it got Bob motivated. So that’s one thing that should help the business between Teddy and his partner. That won’t be mentioned again. But yeah, all and all, this episode was enjoyable with a few major surprises thrown in with Louise and Millie. So I’ll give “The Silence of the Louise” …
A 9 out of 10. Like I said, this was a surprising episode, mostly coming from the A-plot with Louise and Millie. And I think I hope the writers could continue that in the future without of course bringing Millie’s Louise obsession back into play. Because that’s the last thing we need for the series. And as for the B-plot, more of a Bob subplot but at least he was motivated, so you can thank Teddy for that, Bob. You may need it for next week when his leg gets broken as Linda takes the kids out for trick or treating in a foggy night, where a werewolf goes on the run in the Third Episode of the Eighth Season and the Sixth Halloween Themed Episode of the Series, “The Wolf of Wharf Street.” So tell me what you think about this week’s episode.
